Recentely there have been two accounts (and possibly more) going around stealing adopts, they scammed me out 900 points and have scammed others out of OVER A THOUSAND.
Stealing peoples adopts is just scummy, even when there is absolutely no excuse for it, there are plenty of FREE bases to use (which I will list at the end of this jounal) and even doll makers. I dont know why youd do such a horrible thing to someone, stealing someones design and resellimg them?? Thats horrible.
These two accounts have been caught stealing (please tell me if there are any more!)
I highly suspect these two accounts were ran/owned by the same person.
They were created at simular times
They BOTH used deals like 50% off (probably to drag you in)
They both deleted adopts once they had been payed for (probably so no one finds out theyre stolen)
They might come back with an alternate account, so PLEASE be careful when buying adopts.
Here are some random ways you can keep your adopts safe
Watermark near gradiented areas'
Watermarking on gradiented areas makes it harder to remove the watermark. Heres an example:
See how you can easily cover flat colours but it look weird on gradients? One of the users was covering watermarks and i just had the idea of using gradients instead.
Warn, report and block any thieves
ALWAYS warn people of any accounts who may be stealing adopts, warn any groups theyre in and make a journal warning others of them. If you block a theif then that stops them from viewing your art, meaning they wont be able to view your art and repost it.
Comment on the original art
Its better to warn the original artist than to harrass the user in question, why? Because if you harrass the user they will most likely take it down, meaning less people will actually know they stole. If you comment on the original artists post then alot more people will see and be warned.
Now im going to list a bunch of good ftu bases, i actually cant remember why i was going to do this, but i might as well xD
