This past spring I went through the stressful process of creating an admission portfolio for art school, and thought that I would share some tips & tricks that would have been useful if I could do it again.
*Note : I only applied/went through the portfolio review with art schools, i'm not sure if the process differs from a regular university art program.
This might seem weird/unprofessional, but include sketchdumps & sketchbooks in your portfolio! Reviewers want to see if you have the ability to work out problems, define and create concepts via sketches. Do not be afraid to show them messy stuff - it's actually the opposite. The more messy, unrefined your sketches are - the better. H
