Lunette wasn't feeling that well, she hadn't had any sleep last night, because of how many books she read last night. As her tiny paws lead her toward a small river to gather some water, her ears had picked up a sound coming from behind a tree. Her body tensed as she thought that somebody stupid was planning to attack her in broad daylight. Her body tried to relax slightly to give the person a peaceful mind of thinking that Lunette hadn't noticed him or her.
Lunette slowly reached the river, her nose kept quietly sniffing the air to try to identify the culprit, but the wind wouldn't let her. She Lowered her head toward the water and took small sips while keeping her eyes half opened, so that she could use the rivers reflection to help her if the culprit attacks from behind.
As soon as her eyes spotted something black like a hat and orange ears, she swiftly moved out of the way from a Fire Pledge.
“What the?” She looked at the now burned glass, where she had been sipping water before. Luckily she had good reflexes after training with her father everyday.”Who the hell are ya?! Do you attack any passer by?!” She growled with her fangs showing.
In Front of her stood a Braixen with gloves and a hat.”What great instincts! Magnificent! I challenge you to a honorable duel!” The Braixen said as he pointed his stick toward Lunette who stood there frozen.
“......” Lunette took a deep breath before letting her emotions out.” Listen here….I do NOT consider THIS a HONORABLE duel, since YOU tried to use a SNEAK attack on ME! “ She said slowly hoping the Braixen would understand that that isn't honorable.
“So...You won't fight me?” He asked as he tilted his head to the side. Lunette face palmed.
“No, I will fight you, just don't sneak on others before challenging them, ok? The names Lunette. I'm always up for a fight!” Said Lunette as she took a stance with her eyes slightly growing red.
“My name is Xavier! I sense magic in you, are you perhaps a witch?” He asked as Lunette just grinned slightly with her fangs showing.
“I'm a trained witch, I was born with some magic energy, enough to teach me a few things, but I would think that my magic energy comes from him, so I suggest to be careful. You want a magic duel or a fight?” Asked Lunette as she felt herself losing control.
“Magic Duel, since you're a witch!” He said, but before casting anything he felt a dark energy coming from the eevee. Lunette’s shadow changed it shape into a monster with sharp teeth and glowing purplish red eyes. The grass under Lunette’s feet slowly perished. Before Lunette and the shadow could do anything Lunette felt the fear from the Braixen and it helped her snap out of it, returning her shadow and eyes back to normal.
“Forget you ever saw that….” Before the Xavier could reply she used Shadow ball and then Swift to knock him out. She than left him, since she didn't want to have him wake up with seeing her in front of him.
As she was leaving, she scolded herself mentally for letting her sleepy self letting the curse out. She also remembered that she wanted to test her abilities at Marble’s crash course, since when Marble met her in town she had called her clumsy, but it wasn't Lunette’s fault for being half asleep! So Lunette had promised to go and try out Marble’s crash course to prove her wrong!
When Lunette arrived Marble showed her a large course that had her running a lap around with her targets that were attached to arrows that had to hit Lunette from all directions. Lunette’s job was to dodge all of them by the end of the lap.
As Start was said Lunette dashed with the arrows shooting. She ,in the middle of running, jumped while twirling and using Swift to make the stars hit all the targets. Having a great aim, Lunette was able to hit the middle of each target. As she landed perfectly on the ground, she sprinted. The lap was half done when Lunette felt that something was weird, this course was too easy. She noticed a few places on the running course looked dugged out. She used Shadow ball on one of them having a hole be revealed. If Lunette hadn't seen the dirt looking dug upped she would have fallen in and lost!
Luckily Lunette’s father and mother had made sure she was strong and smart to handle the outside world. She jumped over the holes and while dodging arrows and shooting either Swift or Shadow ball, she was able to finish the lap, just in time! She looked at Marble with a smug smirk.
“Okay, fine, you aren't clumsy or weak. Good job kid, but you shouldn't be so confident or you won't see something bad coming.” Marble advised Lunette, whose smug smirk fell and a scowl replaced it.
“Tch, I know that, but sometimes you are allowed to feel confident. I don't take chances, but sometimes even I would like to feel confident.” She said before waving goodbye to Marble and walking back toward her home, she was sure she would need a nice long rest or better yet a nap, since the last few days had given her a work out she would surely remember for a long time.
“Whew, Dad was right about this being hard work...But I'm not giving up! No way! I have come this far after all and I'm not backing down!” She clenched her paw in a fist and with a determined look, she was sure she could prove to her dad that she was responsible to live on her own and maybe one day her father wouldn't worry so much about her….nah, if he stopped worrying about her, than he wouldn't be acting like himself. With that thought she happily headed back to her new home.
