Chapter 1: Keepers

It was a nice sunny day outside, all the people of Tabira were chatting and working. While Lunette was walking through Tabira with a bag of items that she bought for her new home, she would glance around to see everybody enjoying each others company. Looking at her bag, she thought back to what she did today. She had bought around 6 books, one was an old picture book that was with her since she was little, she would carry it around sometimes, since it was a book her mother would read her a lot when she was little. Suddenly the Eevee’s eyes landed on a stand with a Lucario, who was asking for donations. Lunette looked at her bag and saw that she had some money left over. Walking over to the donation stand she asked.

“Yo. What is this donation for? If you don't mind me asking?” She wanted to know if it was for a worthy cause, she didn't want to just give her money for something that might be fake.

“Oh, it's for the people of Tabira! My name is Gemma, I'm Lady Sela’s proxy. Would you like to demonstrate charity to the people of Tabira?” She asked with a smile. After Lunette checked if Gemma was lying and saw that she was telling the truth, she nod her head and said.

“Sure, my name is Lunette. Here you go.” She handed some money and the old picture book. She didn't know if she should give it up, but it would serve better to a young child. In the end she decided to take one of the newest picture books she bought that was made from an interesting legend. ”Could you give this picture book to the small kids of Tabira? Its an old legend.” Lunette explained as Gemma took the money and the book.

“Sure! It would be my pleasure!” Gemma smiled at the young Lunette. Lunette watched as Gemma took out a book where she put the money and then watched as she took out a different books that had books and toys for the children. She put the picture book in the children box.”Thank you for donating, I know the kids will love this picture book and the money will go for a good cause.” She reassured the Eevee.

“I'm glad to hear that. I’ll be heading than now, Goodbye Gemma.” She waved goodbye to the Lucario before heading down the path. She saw a few other mons bringing money and items to the donation stand, where Gemma took the money and items. Lunette looked at the old picture book in her bag, confirming that it was still there, she smiled. The legend was her favored and she wouldn't part with this book no matter what.

As she was heading home, she heard a voice call to her. Glancing behind her, she saw a Mawile walking toward her.

“Hey-ho! It’s nice to see a new face around here! I’m Madras, the guild archivist. I’m the one who makes sure that the records of every guild are kept safe and sound. I’m also a skilled diviner, how about that?

Anyway! Today, I’ve been asked to give a survey to our new members. So, if you feel like sparing a little bit of time… you could tell us all about where you’re from! I love hearing stories about all the wonderful places across the world, and hearing what you have to say will be a nice little treat. Please?” She asked as Lunette just blinked twice before saying.

“I don't mind sharing some information about the place I grew up in, but It doesn't mean I will be completely telling you everything about me.” She warned and after seeing Madras nod Lunette continued.” Well for starters my name is Lunette, I'm 17 and I'm a solo team leader of team Phoenix Star. I come from across the ocean. Pretty far away, I know, I lived in a pretty average sized village with my aunts. Uncles, parents and baby brother. The place’s name is Oriala. It has a lot of berry trees surrounding it, which helps the farmers to earn money if somebody from a different village wants to buy some berries.” She took a break to breath as she watched Madras wrote everything down.

“Interesting, what about the weather at your home village?”  She asked wondering what wound keep the berries growing for so long.

“Its pretty warm, winter only lasts for two months, while 7 months it's pretty hot and the rest 3 months the rain rains so hard that it reaches your knees, it's a bizarre occurrence in my village, but everybody is used to it already.” Explained Lunette as her nose twitched at the memory of those rainy days, how she hated it when her silver white fur coat got so wet that she could barely lift herself after a pouring rain.”My father used to be in a team in a different, far away place with my aunt, but he, my aunt and my mom later left for personal reasons. Right now he trains young kids how to fight, while my mother teaches how to read and count.” Lunette said as she thought back to her parents and little brother.

“That's wonderful! Thank you for all of this information, I hope to continue seeing you around Tabira!” Said Madras with a smile as Lunette just nod.

“Well, I'm not planning on moving out any time soon.” She informed her.

“Great to hear! I’ll be off now than, bye!” She waved goodbye before leaving the Eevee, who just gave a small wave goodbye before turning toward her home to start reading the books she bought.

When Lunette returned home she put all the books she bought on a single shelf while the old picture book was put in a hole on the wall, which was covered by a family photo.

"Its better if nobody knows this legend...cause not all legends are made up..." She muttered as her shadow had a flash of red eyes, but as soon as it appeared it disappeared just as fast.
