Die Geschichte mit dem Esel:

Da war einmal ein junges Paar. Er trottete neben dem Esel und lies seine Frau auf dem Esel reiten. Da kam ein Wanderer. Er meinte :"der arme Esel, warum muss er die Frau und das Gepäck tragen?" So ließ der Mann seine Frau absteigen und beide gingen neben dem Esel, mit dem Gepäck auf dem Rücken vom Vieh. Da kam der zweite Wanderer "Die arme Frau!", rief der Wanderer. "Warum lässt der Mann sie nicht auf dem Rücken vom Esel reiten?" Der Mann verteilte daraufhin das Gepäck vom Esel auf den eigenen Schultern. Der dritte Wanderer lachte und machte sich lustig darüber "Jetzt hat er einen Esel und lässt weder Frau, noch Gepäck von ihm tragen."

Once upon a time there was a young couple. He trotted alongside the donkey and let his wife ride on the donkey. A wanderer came along. He said, "Poor donkey, why does he have to carry the woman and the luggage?" So the man let his wife dismount and they both walked next to the donkey, with the luggage on the back of the cattle. Then came the second wanderer "The poor woman!" cried the wanderer. "Why doesn't the man let her ride on the donkey's back?" The man then distributed the luggage from the donkey onto his own shoulder. The third hiker laughed and made fun of this "Now he has a donkey and won't let his wife or luggage be carried by him."
