Personal Info

Personality:
[+] Charismatic [+] Kind [+] Open-minded [/] Unaggressive [/] Self-Conscious [/] Secretive [-] Cowardly [-] Ingenuine [-] Weak-Willed

[+] Charismatic: Scarlett has a charming nature that more often than not makes her appealing and easy to be around and talk to. She is able to help people feel relaxed and at ease, and seems to exude an aura that inspires others. It’s one of the reasons she attracts the popular crowd, and has ended up in the preppy clique.

[+] Kind: Despite the nature of the preppy girl clique, and the clique she was subjected to for four years, Scarlett has grown up to be kind. She highly disapproves treating others badly and being mean, and tries to be considerate and even help if and when no one’s watching.

[+] Open-minded: Scarlett, not having a similar mindset to some of her class/stature, is actually very reasonable, readily willing to listen to the thoughts and opinions of others. She’s very unbiased/impartial, and won’t be quick to judge without all the facts and then some in mind.

[/] Unaggressive: Scarlett does not actively seek to fight or challenge people and attitudes, preferring to stay out of potentially negative situations. Unfortunately this has caused the girl to appear weak and unwilling to stand up for herself.

[/] Self-Conscious: Scarlett has more or less been raised to be acutely aware of her impact on other people, and is therefore very self-conscious of her appearance and her reputation/how she comes off to others, making sure that she comes off appealing/likeable. Unfortunately there are times when she’s too self-conscious/cares too much about how she looks, believing that looks and reputations really do matter since she’s seen others being outcasted for lacking either of those things. This only influences her weak will, making her unable to say no in an effort to please others so she is seen in a more positive light/reflects well.

[/] Secretive: Scarlett is very good at hiding things. Her feelings, her opinions and thoughts are rarely shared, as they often clash with the opinions and feelings of others in the clique around her. While it makes her a good person to hold secrets, it also fuels her fake persona.

[-] Cowardly: Despite putting up a brave, proud, self-righteous persona, Scarlett is actually very afraid of the people she’s surrounded by. She knows that the popular crowd have the power to make or break a person, and this has caused her to put up this fake bravado and refuse to embrace/openly act like her true self

[-] Ingenuine: As mentioned above, Scarlett is not true to herself – she has resorted to putting up a fake bravado, a fake smile, and overall become someone she’s not. She’ll even go so far as to deny the fact if someone were to point it out and insist that her fake smile and bravado are real, even ridiculing them if she felt she were being questioned too far on it.

[-] Weak-willed: Simply put, Scarlett has trouble saying no. Her fear of abandonment, her fear of displeasing the only people she feels cared for, causes the Sylveon to overlook her own wellbeing in order to appease the other person. It’s caused her more grief than good, as it has caused others to more or less make decisions for her and cause her to be untrue to herself. It has raised restrictions on what she is to wear/eat/think and how to speak/act around others vs who she really and truly is.

History:

Kalos, specifically Lumiose, and its neighbouring city Laverre, were the two fashion moguls of the region, home to a number of designers, both prominent and fledging alike, and it was in the larger city of Lumiose that Scarlett was born. Her mother, Gabrielle, was a fashion designer herself who, while not as prominent as some other figures, was still well-known for her trendy, everyday wear designs. Her father, Raphael, worked in conjunction with his wife in the fashion industry as a model, specifically for his wife’s clothing brand. They were busy often within the first few years of Scarlett’s life, having to keep up with the constantly changing trends and countless shows that the two coordinated and worked together with, and because of that Scarlett grew up knowing only the face of her caretakers, her parents’ assistants, for that time.

The young eevee had good role models in the assistant husband-wife duo of Martin and Lacey, and they often cared for the girl like she was their own, teaching her proper manners, how to be courteous, and to be kind to those she met when her parents were not around, doing their best to make sure that the neglect of her parents wouldn't have a negative impact on the girl’s life.

Though she was cared for, Scarlett often felt lonely. Her parents had insisted that she be homeschooled away from the distractions of other kids, and as a result had no contact with people her age. In addition to that, while she was happy with the love she received from Martin and Lacey, she still missed the attention of her true parents. They often pushed their own opinions on her, often reminding her of how she held the Lux family name, and to always keep in mind that how she acted would affect them as well. In addition to the pressure was the ever consistent absence in her life, and more often than once she was left wondering why their jobs and reputations had taken precedent over her and her feelings. Though she wore a smile on her face, she was often saddened by those feelings of loneliness and what increasingly became the belief that she was unimportant, perhaps even a mistake or some kind of accessory/object to show off, and began to despise the lifestyle and class she’d been born into as a result.

The girl’s feelings had begun to take a toll on her personality, and the once sweet and outgoing girl started to become reserved and even despondent. On the recommendation of a few colleagues of theirs, as well as the insistence of Martin and Lacey, her parents decided to expand her social circle and experiences, enrolling the girl into a school, a private one, at the age of eleven, in hopes that having more peers around her age would help deter the seemingly sudden shift in attitude. Scarlett, despite not having experience with peers around her age, had managed to befriend some of the most popular girls thanks to her social class, and was excited at the prospect of having friends around her age group. Unfortunately, these same “friends” were the opposite of Scarlett; harsh, judgemental and biased. They had a reputation for judging, and even bullying others for their social class and who they were. In a short amount of time, Scarlett naively began to mimic their judgmental habits, viewing it as the acceptable way to treat people, and even necessary to fit into the clique.

Eventually, Scarlett began to see that the clique’s views were harsh and shallow, only caring about physical appearances, and behind the back of the clique began to reach out and attempt to befriend the same people they constantly bullied. Adeline, the leader of the clique, began to notice this and started to ridicule her in front of the others in the clique, taunting that she was stupid, that they shouldn’t have let her in but she felt bad because she seemed desperate, and that her parents probably avoided her because they saw she was just as worthless as the other unpopular people in the school. They gave her an ultimatum - stay in the clique and deal with the fact that this was the status quo and this was how she had to be, or leave and risk being a social outcast from not only the popular people, but from the same people she previously bullied, truly being a loner. Fearing the possibility of loneliness once again, and feeling as if she had no other choice, Scarlett believed them and begrudgingly stayed with the crowd she was in, learning to put on what she deemed was the model smile to mask her discontent.

This predicament at school only added to Scarlett’s personality change. Scarlett felt as though no matter where she was, she wasn’t free to be herself unless it was behind the closed doors of her room. She began to hole herself up after school, taking an interest in gaming and music as a way to pass the time and temporarily escape both school and her parents’ pressure to conform to their standards. She became secretive, even to Martin and Lacey, flashing them the same fake smiles she’d give others, and insisting she was ok, refusing to let in even the people who’d become her second parents.

A changing point later came for both Scarlett and her parents on the eevee’s fourteenth birthday. Martin and Lacey, fed up with Scarlett’s complete change in personality as well as lack of involvement/parenting and undue pressure from her parents, had gone the extra mile in making sure that both of her parents would be present for her birthday for once as opposed to the previous years when they’d simply buy gifts and video call in for a few minutes to give their greetings, insisting that the girl needed not material things, but her real parents in her life to help bring down the girl’s defensive walls and show her that she had mattered, that she was not just a label or image, and to be honest with herself. The plan was made unbeknownst to Scarlett, but it become evident to both parents that the time was worth it. Not only had it hit them just how little they knew about their own child, the possible heir to their business and their own flesh and blood, but also just how much their child was suffering and how their absence and constant pressure to be the model child had affected Scarlett, who, although initially denying it, had clearly been so happy by their presence and opportunity to let her walls go for a day that she had evolved that same day into a Sylveon.

Both parents apologised, and from then on, made a conscientious effort to at least be more present in the girl’s life, starting with her evolution mishap. Upon Scarlett’s evolution into a Sylveon, it had become abundant that something went wrong during the evolution. When the light had faded, she and her parents had noticed that Scarlett’s bow was asymmetrical, with the right side and ribbon being much shorter than the left side. In addition to that, the ribbons, unlike the ones by her head, were in a constant state of paralysis, and no matter how much she tried to, Scarlett was unable to move them. A visit to the doctor showed that the same muscles and nerves that were in her head ribbon weren’t in her neck ribbon, and that it would essentially be deadweight, unable to even release aura, much less move/be controlled. Couple that with the fact that it just looked odd, Scarlett went to her parents with the decision to have it removed, and willing to prove that they wanted to be more supportive, agreed to the decision to have it removed.

In addition to this, her parents (with the suggestion of Martin and Lacey), decided to resolve her issues in school by enrolling into a different private school, and even encouraged her to engage in extracurricular activities that interested her in an attempt to make actual friends. They even began to take her with them to work in the summer, involving her in their business when she began to show interest in fashion. Scarlett was able to make a few true friends, but still found herself grouped in the same preppy clique she tried to avoid. In addition to that, while she was grateful for her parents’ attention, she found her parents suddenly too attentive, and as her mother especially became involved, found that she had even more expectations of how she was to behave around them and in society in general, she began to feel restricted. Though she no longer tolerated stooping down to bullying others, the fear of rejection and her own restrictions/expectations of her family, and by extension society, was still enough to discourage her from separating and continue wearing the now well-rehearsed model smile.

A year later at 15 years old, Scarlett was introduced to the world of theatre. Several of the girls in the clique Scarlett was in expressed interest in a musical (one in which the “hot new transfer student” had been auditioning for the lead male role), and they had all gone to the auditorium where rehearsals for the play were being held so they could audition as well. The lustre of the theatre, playing and performing different roles, and the happiness and exuberance of the various actors and actresses onstage had grabbed Scarlett’s attention immediately. With encouragement from her parents, Martin, and Lacey, Scarlett enrolled into the drama classes and clubs, quickly becoming engrossed into the world of theatre, and performing in a number of the school’s different plays and musicals.

After seeing Scarlett’s love for the theatre grow, Gabrielle and Raphael began to search for a high school that would be tailored to Scarlett’s interests, and eventually stumbled upon Sternberg High. Once they discovered its location was in the middle of Nimbasa City, an artistic and theatre-centric city, they decided to enroll her into the school.

Extra Info:

Extra:

:new: – Scarlett’s fur has only started growing back over the area of her neck where the bow was around six months before she started attending SH. The fur growth is slow though, so her scar will still be visible most likely for the remainder of her first year attending.
:new: – Scarlett’s parents had an ulterior motive aside from willing to help their daughter: the Lux duo, as mentioned near the end of the third to last paragraph, are extremely self conscious of public appearances - concerned that the imperfection in her neck bow would reflect badly on them and their company, they were more than willing to have it removed.
:new: – Old habits die hard: the Lux duo, more specifically mom, seems to fall back to old habits of putting work ahead of Scarlett. Unlike before though, there are times Scarlett finds this relieving, as she gets to escape from the watchful and critical eye of her mother.
– Unfortunately Scarlett still has the belief of not being accepted for her true self, still has a fear of rejection and still has the belief of having to stick to the status quo/what her parents and society expect of her, hence why she has made no effort to leave the cliques she’s dragged into
– In addition to her model smile, Scarlett occasionally tries to hide her reluctance/distaste by imitating the same shallow and snobby attitude stereotypical preppy girl cliques have from time to time, fearing that if people see her reluctance she’ll be called out, and possibly rejected
– Despite the various pressures and neglect that occurred during a good portion of her life, the experiences have seemed to make her into a kind person rather than break her, though she does suffer from a lack of self-confidence/place too much emphasis on people’s opinions of who she is/how she’s supposed to be as a result
– if she had a choice, she'd prefer to be identified as one of the Normies
– her tail has a mind of its own, and will wrap itself around someone the girl finds attractive or finds interesting/likes(platonically or romantically)
– She hates this habit because she knows it could cause chaos/mischief, and is more often than not found glaring at it and pulling it away when this happens, possibly even scolding it if Shen thinks no one is around to listen
– likes reds and pinks
– big sweet tooth, but she has to hide it because she feels it’ll be judged (appearances and all that)
– Closet book nerd; favourite genre is Romance or Rom-com
– Even bigger closet fantasy rpg nerd; she will take this secret to her grave though
– Her love for fantasy rpgs stems from the time she completely shut others out and got into gaming; the ability to become an entirely different character and/or species and live an entirely different life was a huge appeal
– She’s not a pro gamer or anything, but she’s decent/good enough to hold her own/be a valuable asset (minus the whole ‘plays rashly and dies in game a lot’)
– She prefers games that have continued development, even after release, and especially enjoys mmos
- Her keen interest in gaming is a tightly held secret; she does a great job of hiding it. Currently only one person knows about this, though that's more or less from her indirectly telling them
- If she gets close enough to a person she may eventually tell them about this secret. Otherwise, any knowledge of this secret can be considered meta knowledge for now
– Very much has interest in fashion/the fashion worlds, and does keep up with trends regardless of her mom’s presence
– Scarlett, much like with other things, does not have a say in the types of clothes she wears, and as a result wears her mother’s designs. She does assemble her own attire/wardrobe, however
