Alamos Town Trio

Do you remember these characters vaguely? Yes? CONGRATULATIONS YOU QUALIFY FOR A SENIOR'S DISCOUNT CUZ THEY GO BACK TO OVER 10 YEARS AGO

I think Skylar was the first one of this trio to be made, back in like 2012... I'd have to double check my old files tbh but I know for a fact the other two were made in 2013 so they're basically over a decade old now ahaha wow im old

ANYHOW I was going through some stuff for the PMD group I'm in and working on organizing my character lists for several groups and whatnot and while I was doing that these characters (specifically Selena first) popped up. I'd been kind of waffling between putting her in said PMD group or not and while doing so kind of went on a stroll down memory lane and thanks to that little trip plus playing through Legends ZA (genuinely skyrocketed to one of my favourites), I ended up making a HEAVY revamp of these characters owo;

Selena's probably the lightest revamp since I used her back in... oh lord apparently it was 2019 LOL but not much has changed visually from the 2019 version till now lol

Not sure how long I'll stick with this/post about this since it for now is brain rot but knowing my brain probably wont stay brain rot for long

In case the brain rot dies soon the biggest changes are:

• Superficial updates such as visual appearances and names. This is the biggest and most important one tbh. Back in 2012/2013 when I made these characters, I was making characters heavily influenced by good acquaintances, friends, and family (mostly the first two) both current and old. I had a falling out with the people that inspired these particular characters, which made it hard to touch them for quite awhile. I'd moved on by 2019 and was ready to finally make them their own characters, but artistically I was not in a great place. I'd managed to draw at least one thing every month that year, but in reality I was beginning to feel a burnout forming early that year, and it didn't help that of the two groups I was in (there was a third, but it closed rather suddenly), my interest waned pretty quickly due to varying factors, and by the end of Inktober I'd become fully burned out. I didn't find my groove again until I joined chai chateau the following year in spring, but by then I'd all but checked out of the two groups I was in the year prior, and these three very quickly found their way to the back burner again. As mentioned above, in revisiting old plans and walking down memory lane, I slowly grew the inspiration to work on this trio again. Selena received the smallest update since the majority of her edits and revamps came in 2019. Skylar's (left) the next big one - while the current version of him here has visually been the current version of him since 2016, I never actually shared his updates back then, which is why he's so different from his prior iteration in like 2014 or 2015. A Very Bad Incident tm fell upon these three prior to the final year of the BFOI, but I never really touched upon it because I hadn't worked out timelines, so I never really got to play upon this. The final person - James - went through the biggest change, changing both in name and appearance. I've since changed their name to Jayce, because by 2019 I'd simply begun to refer to them mentally as "Jay" or "J", and also changed their surname to Aello. While I've kept certain parts of their character from before - such as the pink highlights and red eyes - I've also changed other things, such as their base hair colour and their dress style (sort of). I also developed better anatomy/have improved some in drawing since 2016 and 2019, and was able to finally give the body type I wanted since 2019 as well.

• this trio has a theme now! I hinted years back about wanting to tie them to the Lake Guardian trio (Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf) but didn't really do anything with it. I can't promise any info will go up about them but for now, they remain a trio of friends (in Selena and Skylar's case, cousins that share more of a sibling bond) that grew up together in Sinnoh, specifically Alamos Town, and ended up bonding to the lake spirits similar to how Ash, Dawn, and Brock did in the anime (though unlike the anime, that bond never died out upon leaving Sinnoh/resolving the plot).

I hope to stick with the brain rot long enough to give some proper updates, and will endeavour to share more in the future! Because of this, I will not link to the older versions of them here, but if I get to make new "apps"/"profiles" for them in the future then I most certainly will!
