I see nothing wrong with it. An artist I watch and really look up to does it with a lot of her adopts!

I'd say it's pretty easy to make adopts less valuable to people by using a base though.
As long as you can clearly tell characters and their personalities apart selling them shouldn't be too much harder.

i have seen this on anthro adopts and personally i like the idea, is a way to make them easier and faster, but they still look nice and can be different to each other

Are you planning to do TF themed adopts?
anyways, i would love to see adoptable designs from you on the future!
