When Lucifer became Satan by lug0si When Lucifer became Satan by lug0si
Acrylics. The fall of the Mourning Star, the tranformation from the arch angel to the prince of Hell.

They embrace each other in agony under a burning, forsaking sun. Rays are suppose to look like black smoke.
I cut the posterboard thinking I was being clever and shit. But it was counter-productive and just a bitch to take pictures with.

I am a Theistic Satanist/Devil Worshiper and I love this picture!!! Great job lug0si!! Those that say Satanists believe Lucifer and Satan to be 2 different entities not entirely true. I know plenty of Theistic Satanists who believe Lucifer and Satan are one in the same and to the idiot saying that The Passage in The Old Testament where it says " You were in The Garden of God etc. " was referring to The King of Tyre , A Man , NOT The Devil ! How is that possible if the King of Tyre came long after Adam and Eve and never was in the garden of eden? Part of that passage maybe referring to the King of Tyre but the part that mentions "You were in the garden of Eden or garden of god" is talking about another and that would be Lord Satan.

I believe a lot of the christian stuff I chose to worship Lord Satan. In the old testament jehovah did a lot of evil stuff. I don't believe Lord Satan to be evil.

Who cares? He's described as a lot of different things, not just one. And besides, it was God who made Hell for him to dwell in, so technically no, Satan is not the ruler of Hell. Actually, he doesn't "rule" over anything. The only thing he is is the prince of this world. My original description chosen was more romanticized than anything, but thanks for your input, I suppose.

I have more reason to believe in the Bible than I do your baseless claims that you can't even recite any reputable sources for. Especially considering the fact that the Bible was written over two thousand years on three continents (Europe, Africa, and Asia), in three languages (Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic), by about forty authors including non-Christian Jews (Old Testament), Jewish Christians (Paul) and Gentile Christians (probably Luke), most of whom did not know each other or know of each others' writings, including a political leader (Moses), fisherman (Peter), herdsman (Amos), military general (Joshua), prime minister (Daniel), physician (Luke), king (Solomon, David), rabbi and tent maker (Paul).

And yet, despite all of this, it remains perfectly consistent and non-contradictory in its message. It is so accurate in the facts of the culture that was current in its time of creation, and have mentioned the existence of many historically ancient figures and locations, (such as Pontius Pilate, King Nebuchadnezzar, his son, Belshazzar, the ruined city of Jericho, etc.) So even if I wasn't a "religious" person, I'd place my bets on this time-persevering book that has survived many burnings, bannings, etc. than I would of any other obscure, miscellaneous, scattered about writings and literature that aren't even more than 200 years old. Not to mention the littered inconsistencies and contradictory philosophies.

Consistent and non-contradictory ?!?!? Please ! The Bible consistent and non-contradictory ?!?!?
Jesus saying " I love everyone " and then saying to The Jews , his own people , " You are the children of Satan " , for being ( understandably )offended at what they understood as his claim of being God since their Religion is based on The Belief God is God and no man is God ! That`s NOT contradictory ?!?!? HAHAHA ! You Christians are hilarious in your stupidity !

Gnostic... Hmm.
You're actually going to have a fight over this?
and no, I can't really elaborate on it, maybe if you did research and actually READ the bible and did a few tricks, well, maybe you'd believe me. Your belief is yours, my belief is mine.
Just because I don't follow your God doesn't mean I'm not entitled to have my own opinion.
But, you're making this into an argument and I'm not arguing. I like the work, I said my peice. be Happy instead of arguing with people who you don't agree with.
anyways.
I hope your Lordy takes you through the pearly Gates.
Satan and Lucifer and both two very different entities, by the way.
that's all i'm saying, honey.

Trust me, I am glad that you like my work so much, really. I'm not expecting you to drop everything you believe and convert; But really, I could say you were trying to get a similar response from me with all these bizarre and obscure "facts" you just pulled out of nowhere within the comment, as if to refute my own. So really, I have just a right to take a stand for my beliefs in opposition to you just as you took it upon yourself to do to me.

All I'm saying is that you can't just come on here and make a comment as bold of a claim as "This is how the facts really are" without expecting some sort of retort on my part and asking you to prove such "facts". For someone to make such a strong statement and yet not back it up has never made for good discussion nor debate, whether you were looking for one in the first place or not. But your certainty for your baseless claim comes off otherwise.

and another thing. Lucifer is described as the Goddess of the Moon in paganism. Her name means light-bringer or bearer of light. Satan meaning the adversary which means:
1. One's opponent in a contest, conflict, or dispute.( Meaning God's opponent)
2. The Devil (which He is)

They are two very different people
Father and Daughter
Lucifer is also known as the Daughter of Darkness, The Destroyer of All Things and the Amulet of Atrocity. for the simple reason she was born in hell, but catholics have a habit of signing these names to entities they do not understand and all for one reason.

She also disagreed with God.

So kicked she was. (Very harsh man, is he not?)
Gabriel pleaded with the Big Boss because He loved her, not for what she had done... though, she simply, slaughtered many who went against her.
God refused Gabriels plea so, he ran with her. Simply because they didn't want to be apart.
Eventually, Gabriel was given a task, and if he fufilled it, he would be re-instated and allowed back through the pearly gates. So, He did and back He went.
All is well now.
Though, Catholic's fear Lucifer and her father, Satan.
They also fear Gabriel and Lucifer's daughter. The one said to be the most vicious of any line, Worse than Lucifer, more Horrific than Satan.
Her name? Unknown.
But, if it was known, and spoken to a man of god, they would quiver, in fear.

That all would be nice if I was going by some Pagan definition that was labeled on this one figure (that I separated into two entities by his transformation) to fit the Pagan pantheism later in the history of mankind, but I'm not. It's strictly based on the original Judeo-Christian "version", the only one that is true. Thanks for the neat story, anyways. It was interesting.

lets put the facts out here.
One, Lucifer is a female
two, She was an angel, not an archy.
three, Satan is her father, he led a rebellion in heaven because he didnt agree with god. Alliyah, His companion, bore Lucifer in hell, but because she was innocent, god took her to heaven. She led another rebellion where tons of angels were slaughtered mercilessly.
Gabriel fell in love with her, the two eloped to another plain and bore three children. (by this stage, Gabriel was kicked from heaven but repented by slaughtering demons on Earth)
God forgave Gabriel after He and Lucifer registered the companionship with the Big Boss Himself. Gabriel was re-instated as Archangel once more. Micheal is Gabriel's brother and since then they have watched over heaven and earth.
I really don't mind if you think I'm lying... but i'd rather keep my sources to myself.

Feathered Blessing.

Sigh. No, that's incorrect.

"Lucifera"(note the feminine 'a') was an epithet given to several different Roman goddesses(namely Hecate and Diana), but this was thousands of years before "Helel-ben-Shahar"(Hebrew "Morning Star", referring to a Babylonian king) was translated into the Latin "Lucifer"--in around the 1100s AD.

Lucifer Himself is an ancient Roman god--yes, a male god, not goddess--whom was seen as the personification of Venus, just as Luna was seen as the personified moon.

UPGS=/=Objective Truth.

Take your attempt at Unverified Personal Gnosis bullshit somewhere else.

Facts? Exactly where or what are you basing your facts off of? For all I know, this could be some completely fictional story that was concocted by anybody that just took the mere names of the angelic figures within the Torah/Bible, and added whatever they felt would make things interesting through their own eyes.

And really, that's all this sounds like to me, some crazy story defiling the figures of the Torah/Bible. Paganism in most of its forms doesn't even have a written history, it was only passed down through word of mouth, so there's plenty of room for mistranslation as well as misconception. People can just add or take away from it whatever they wish, so I don't find that very factual nor dependable, at all.

You want to claim it's the truth and yet have nothing to show for it? Like it's some gnostic secret that only somehow you have the privilege of knowing, but it's just so Earth-shattering that it cannot be revealed to every mortal except for a select few? What kind of "truth" is that? Not one I want to base my life by, that's for sure.

Yahweh/Jesus has revealed all He needs us to know in His writings. And I am quite content with it, considering everything else Gnostics claim to add to it doesn't actually have any bearing on how I live my life and honor my God considering it just focuses on the mysticism of the angels, which is not my focus. My focus is purely on God, Himself. His angels are just His servants, who we as His children were actually made a little higher than.

Okay , it`s A Wee Bit of An Oversimplification but there is Some Truth in there , here`s The Truth behind Lucifer and Satan :
Lucifer means " Bearer of Light " in Latin , often more loosely translated as " Lightbearer " or " Lightbringer " , and was used by Ancient Roman Astrologers to refer to The Planet and Goddess Venus also called The " Morningstar " or " Daystar " .
lucifer also means " match " or " phosphorus " .
Lucifer was not in The Bible at all until The Heavily Church-Edited King James Version .
In The Original Greek , The Name used was not Lucifer but Heylel ben Shahar ( " Daystar " , " Son of the morning " ), A Fallen Pagan God .
Church Translators substituted The Greek Heylel ben Shahar with The Latin Lucifer which had much The Same Meaning .
Isiah 14 :12-16 refers not to Satan but The Fallen Babylonian King Nebuchanedzzer .
Biblical Literalists tend to miss Nuances within The Text .
You have to remember when The Books that later became Our Bible were being written , it was A Time of Political and Spiritual Turmoil so using Bits and Pieces of Pagan Mythology twisted around to fit into A Monotheistic Context , they crafted A Series of Morality Tales .
The False Association of Lucifer with Satan came through A Misreading of Isiah 14 : 12-16 by A Church Official .
The Church then made this Connection Official Dogma as if this was always The Case , leading to Horrendous Anti-Pagan Propaganda within The Church that continues to this very day . God , I hate my Church !
The Idea of Satan being A Fallen Angel is from The Apocrypha , not The Bible .
If you read The Bible , it`s clear Satan is not An Angel nor Demon but A Spirit .
Satan is not The Ruler of Hell but rather its Star Prisoner .
He started out as God`s Prosecutor Hassatan ( " The Accuser " or " The Adversary " ) testing Man`s faith in God and over time his evil and jealousy of God`s love for Humans ,whom he saw as corrupt and inferior to himself , grew and he refused to obey God any longer .
Satan lives not in Heaven nor Hell but on Earth until The End of Days when Archangel Michael will cast him to Hell just as he cast Satan down to Earth at The Dawn of Man .
Satan once had free access to Heaven but lost it when his evil became uncontrollable .
" He was A Murderer and A Liar from The Beginning " .
This proves , beyond A Reasonable Doubt , Satan was never A Good Angel called Lucifer .
What exactly is Your Beef with The Gnostics ? Gender equality ? A focus on enlightenment over blind faith ?Or maybe The Fact they expose Your Precious Yahweh for The Self-Righteous Tyrant he truly is ?

The expressions are priceless! Lucifer's expression looks like one of utter betrayal and asking why, As he suffocates in the sweltering heat of Hell. Then Satan hardened, bitter, and vengeful determined to one day rule again; it's beautiful. I think you did an excellent job in portraying the fallen angel, the ruler of Hell. Also I like that you made his eyes green the color of envy. I don't know if that was your intention or not but I like it.

Lucifer and Satan are two different Archangels. They are not one and the same by any means. Unless you are Christian, which by itself, doesn't prove anything to the fact.

Then what, exactly, are you basing your "facts" on? Because from a non-religious viewpoint, you can't even "prove" that archangels exist.

In most, if not all sects of Christianity, Lucifer and Satan are the same entity - It's written in the books. Never once have you ever heard of "The Archangel Satan". Only Lucifer, who was Satan's former self.

I'd like to know what religion you're taking this information from. Actually, I would just like to know where you're coming from at all. Because your stance on the topic has less foundation and less "proof" than you claim mine to have.

We are not arguing if the archangels exist, but your view on them being one. Problem is, what the christians say, is not an axiom.
1.) The word " Satan " was often used just as a description for a demon. Any demon. Fact. (Talmud) 2.) Some religions see Satan as the snake, Lucifer as the goat, making them two. Christianity made the two one. 3.) Peter Binsfeld ( google him ) drew up a hierarchy of devils and ascribed them powers where Lucifer provokes Pride, and Satan provokes anger. Making them two. 4.) Even on wiki you get simple things like: "During the 16th century, it was believed that each demon had more strength to accomplish his mission during a special month of the year. " Lucifer and Satan have each a different month. Making them two. And this is just plain ol' Wiki. Delve into demonology some.

Right. Because we mortal, faulty human beings know everything there is to know about the "hierarchy" of the supernatural demons and their exact, individual properties as if God gave them to us for knowledge on a golden scroll (which he didn't, in case you were confused). Satan is a Christian figure as well as a Christian term (and Catholic, for that matter). It literally translates to "the deceiver" and was given to one figure, the fallen Lucifer. This man's loose theory of demonology has absolutely no foundation to stand on.

Exactly how can you prove the information your absorbing to be true? What ancient literature that has survived the ages (written in the span of 2,000 years, with 66 books, by 40 different authors - and yet remains consistent and firm in its message throughout the entire book) are you getting your information from? Wikipedia? Peter Binsfeld was a Catholic bishop, and the Catholic's main book of any stable truth that they base their religion on would be the Bible. Everything else they base this "demonology" by is purely man-made fiction. If it's not in the bible, it is therefore unbliblical, which then only renders it untrue.

For these various religions you're mentioning, give me their names and give me the passage in their literature that states the individual personification of Satan's aspects. He is not normally called by what could be considered his proper name; he is most often called by a title or description. The Bible describes Satan as many things (Leviathan, Abaddon, the serpent, the goat, the red dragon. etc). But they're all different descriptions for the same entity.

Ok dear, you ( as you accuse me ) as well behave as the all-knowing. You firsthandedly refused my theory therefore you believe in the oneness. I suggest you don't accuse people of the traits you have and display so well. It was not my intention to prove anything, same thing could be asked of you. How can you prove they are one? You missed my point totally or maybe you missed it on purpose. Just like you CLAIMED oneness, I CLAIMED duality. I never said Binsfeld was THE PROOF or that he was all knowing. You said there was nowhere written /suggested/whatever that Satan and Lucifer were two. I simply gave you a source for you to see you were wrong. Modern theistic Satanism acknowledges Satan and Lucifer as 2. You quoted and took your beliefs from CHRISTIANITY. So, I think you have some proving to do as well. And FYI, Satan is NOT a christian term, nor christian figure. I suggest you talk to a few jews about it. Hebrew. Ever heard of it? And dont throw Wikipedia in my face, I told you it was a source for people like you. People who don't have access to other sources or are too narrow minded to see and hear any different. And now I see, you wrote : " Everything else they base this "demonology" by is purely man-made fiction. If it's not in the bible, it is therefore unbliblical, which then only renders it untrue." All I can say, poor christian, so deluded. Bible is man-made fiction , too. And if you think any different, I suggest you find yourself a very good psychiatrist. LOL, "what is unbiblical is untrue", you so fucked up there mate.

You`re speakin` to A Brick Wall , ya know ! As An Irreligious Catholic with Neo-Pagan and Neo-Gnostic Leanings , I have experience with Christian ignorance and know there`s no reasoning with it !Although , you could mention The Council of Nicaea in which Constantine I and The " Wisest Men in Rome " ( Yes-Men )took A Vote as to whether Jesus should be understood as A Man or The Son of God as Paul claimed ! The Vote was A Tie so Constantine came up with A Compromise : Basically " Jesus is both Human and Divine and we will never explain how this is possible and we`ll focus mainly on The Divine Part and no one will question it " . And then , they decided which Books should and shouldn`t be in The Bible and proceeded to burn All Books that didn`t agree with Their Agenda ! Fortunately , the Gnostics , Pharisees and Some Other Groups were smart enough to hide Their Texts in Containers and bury them beneath The Sands of Egypt and elsewhere , safe from The Romans !

If The Bible is fiction (I'd like you to try and explain to me how it is, since I explained to you how it isn't), then so is the existence of Satan, seeing as how he originated from the Bible, itself. And for your information, Christianity is a descendant of Judaism. The Tora is the first testament in the Bible. Jesus was Jewish, and so was Paul, his disciple who established the first church in Christ's name. They're immediately related. The only difference, really, is that Christians believe Christ to be the Messiah (Hence the Christ in Christian), whereas Jews do not.

Excellent composition. I love the anatomy and detailing. Fantastic colors and superb stylization. Stunning hair and elegant wings. The contrast, balance, lighting, and expressions are exquisitely done. It's a sombre, bleak, moving, and powerful piece. I think that the duality and symbolism are extremely well rendered. Great work.
