Athena - Acropolis - Rebuilding of the Parthenon.

I stitched 3 photos with Hugin, an excellent free software for panorama making.

Actually not a bad idea if the economy of Europe (let alone Greece) could stand it. Personally I wish the Egyptians would try to pick up most of the old Pharos Lighthouse ruins from Alexandria Harbor and rebuild it.

Yeah, that would be great too. Some people would say that this is money wasted, but I think much much more money is wasted is many other ways right now by our governments. So, clever spirits wouldn't see that as a waste.

My answer is the word, "Tourism". After a couple of years if rebuilt the structure would be repaying for itself by the number of people visiting and touring it. Best argument: "Mad" King Ludwig II of Bavaria and his three existing dream castles. Do you know how much money they bring into the state of Bavaria's coffers every year? In his day he was overthrown in part for his misuse of state funds in constructing these palaces. And for funding Wagner's Bayreuth Festival (another money maker). And what was his "enemy" Prussia doing. It constructed the German unification on military strength that in the long run led to two World Wars and ruin. Who was crazy, huh?

hey, interesting topic ! I didn't know all that. Thanks for sharing this! Actually, that would make a very good topic for a documentary film!
