Quite unexpectedly I've found a friend - he is my neighbor, he lives in a big house (comparing to my tiny only-one-room home) on the opposite side of the street. His name is Mike, he's a retired military man, he used to work as a paramedic during the war in Korea and he's 89 years old. We've met when he rescued my cat, he saw it wandering in the snow and was afraid it might catch pneumonia so he took him home (I was doing some shopping at that time and wasn't home).
Anyway, we've had a few nice afternoon teas & cakes (he's really good at baking cakes).
He's got a really impressive array of medals in his house, all of them in frames and hanging on the walls. And photos, I've never seen so many photos before, it looks like there are hundreds of different people.
Anyway, Mike likes to talk about the "old days", unfortunately he's all alone because all his family members are no longer here. He does have a few grandchildren and great-grandchildren but they're all scattered around the world and they're not interested in visiting him
Pity, because he's a really interesting man with an incredibly dry sense of humor.
And how is your daily life?
