Waiting for you (Optimus x reader)

      Sighing, Y/N climbed onto the bus as it pulled into the bus stop. Sitting down by a window, Y/N pulled out her earphones and plugged it in her phone as a find a song she’s been listening to for awhile after Optimus and the others left.  

We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes and the flashback starts
I'm standing there on a balcony in summer air

[ Flashback ]

“Oppy!!” Y/N yell as a ground bridge opened and Optimus walked through. “Hello Y/N”  Optimus smiled at the organic that was running towards him.

Little did I know
That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet"
And I was crying on the staircase
Begging you, please, don't go

"Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting, all that's left to do is run

“Come on, come on!” Y/N said excitedly “Where are we going?”  questioned Optimus as he reached down. “I wanna show you something!” Y/N smiled

So I sneak out to the garden to see you
We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew

“Over here” Y/N called as Optimus tried to navigate through dark forest. A bright beam shone through the trees. “I’m coming” Optimus reassured

Romeo save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel

They came to a clearing with a hill. “This hill is my special place where I come here if I just need to escape from everything” Y/N explained “I call it ‘Blue Starry Hill’  

I got tired of waiting
Wondering if you were ever coming around
My faith in you was fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town
And I said
"Romeo save me, I've been feeling so alone
I keep waiting for you but you never come
Is this in my head? I don't know what to think"

Y/N led Optimus to the very top of the hill and motioned for him to sit down. He sat down and     Y/N grinned and whispered “Ready?”  Optimus nodded

He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said
"Marry me, Juliet, you'll never have to be alone
I love you and that's all I really know
I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby just say yes"

'Cause we were both young when I first saw you.

Y/N turned off the torch and Optimus gasped as a thousand stars lit up the summer night. “Wow….” Optimus quietly said awestruck “You see now why I call it special?”  Y/N gently said. A silence took it’s place for a little while. “Hey Optimus?”  “Yes?” “If you ever disappear will you wait for me here?” “Huh?” Optimus looked at Y/N. Her face was dead serious “O..of course…..Of course I will” Y/N smiled and said “Promise?” “Promise”

[ Flashback Ends ]  

The bus suddenly stopped and awoke Y/N from her daydream. She stepped off the bus and walked up the driveway to her house. She piled all of her stuff by the door and headed towards her bedroom. She opened compartment that contained photos. One photo after the other she looked at over and over while tears begin to fall from her face.

“Argh I’m crying” Y/N groaned “Guess I could go to Blue Starry Hill” She looked out the window and realized nighttime. Grabbing a torch along the way, she made her way out to the forest behind her house. “If only Optimus was here” Y/N thought sadly. She pushed the branches out and gasped as a fresh cascade of tears poured down her face.

There, on the summit of the hill, was Optimus gazing at the stars. When he heard Y/N’s gasp he turned his head towards her and smiled. Y/N slowly walked towards Optimus until she was at the bottom of the hill “W-What are you doing here? I-I thought you left?” she stuttered. Optimus simply shook his head in amusement and reached out his hand toward the crying girl. Y/N hesitantly took it and climbed onto the hill and slowly said “Why are you still here I thought you left?” Optimus laughed and said “Did you forget already” “Huh?” Y/N asked “What do you mean?” “I promised you I’d wait here for you”

The sentence hit Y/N like tidal wave as she began to cry again “So you remembered...” she whispered. This time she let all the emotions she’s been bottling up inside her flow out. Optimus gently picked her up with his servo and placed her on his shoulder.  Slowly she calmed down to just hiccupping. They sat in silence as they stargazed together, “Hey Y/N I have something for you” “You do?” Y/N asked surprised. Optimus picked something up from the ground and brought it closer so the human could see.

“Wow that’s so.. beautiful” The necklace was a locket that had a star on the cover and it was night-sky blue. “I’d thought you'd like it since I won’t be with you physically” That last part worried Y/N and panic rose in her chest. “What do you mean aren't you here now?” Optimus sighed and sadly shook his head. Now Y/N was having a full blown panic attack “I won’t let you go, not that you’re here now! I won’t let you disappear again, I WO-” Y/N was cut off by Optimus placing a digit on her lips “Don’t worry I will always be with you, kay?” Y/N shook her head “No.” “Y/N you can’t keep mourning for me, the past is the past and the future is the future” Y/N sighed, defeated “O-okay then, but you won’t forget me okay?” Optimus smiled and said “How could I?” ‘Promise?” “Here we go again” “Promise???” “Promise” And with that Optimus slowly faded away “Goodbye Y/N..” “Goodbye Optimus….my love” the girl whispered as tears rolled down her face for 4th time. Somewhere a blue star appeared above Blue Starry Hill.
