Star Wars...

Thu May 19, 2005, 3:34 AM
Star Wars is not a kids movie!!  Kids can go see it, but like Lord of the Rings it's a movie dealing with a war.  A big war. A war where the good guys are the supreme under dogs.  The good guys in the first three episodes loose major ground and end up "loosing" completely.  The last three episodes are where the good guys are winning back what they lost.  Star Wars may or may not be Lucas' way of making a political statement against the Neo-Conservatist regeme.  Though, these scripts were written way before George W. Bush was in power...thing is, history constantly repeats itself.

Wow, you saw it alredy? What a dedicated moviegoer... I'm planning on seeing it sometime in the near future but I'm a bit hesitant to pin my hopes and dreams on believing that it will live up to the original three... the classics are still my favourites. So, this one is darker, then? That should make a good transition in linking all six of the movies together. I'll be sure to see it soon... and as always, I'll be rooting for the underdog!

Actually, I have not seen it...I'm not that big of a Star Wars fan, but the critics were already making bias remarks about how it seemed to parallel the American government. :O_o: Idiots! No body, but Hollywood has the power to take down the president, and if that's what Lucas is trying to do...then by the First Amendment he has that right. XD After all, it was the supreme court that stated that anything that has some literary or artistic value to it is protected under the First Amendment rights...this explains why there is still porn out there. *shifty eyes*

Okay, the First Ammendment is great but as you said with the porn example, people tend to get a little caried away. I mean, honestly people! Do you NEED to take it to the extreme?! I don't think so! The same goes for "artistic licence". And I never go by reviews anyway, someof the best movies I've seen and books I've read got raked over the coals, and some of the worst I've seen/read got great riviews. It's all a matter of personal opinion.

Actually, the reason porn is protected is because of the credit card industry having their fingers in the political pie and the one that benefit the most from porn industry is the credit card industry. :/ Truthfully, I find it all very insulting!

The reviews so far for Star Wars, not made by paranoid polititians, is that this is the best Star Wars prequel ever! Hopefully, it'll live up to my standards if I go to see it. :)
