This vacation is almost over for me. In about two weeks, I'll be starting school. Fortunately - or not? - as a teacher, not a student. It's been a nice vacation though I didn't get to see the places I would've loved to see. I was mainly focused on DIY projects, especially jewelry, of which I've been making a lot. I had enough time to read as much as I pleased and to watch all the movies in the world, or at least the ones on my HDD. I had time to watch the Friends series for the 3rd time. Well, haven't finished watching it yet, but anyway. The sad part is that I didn't get to walk as I said I would, I didn't take care of my photographic projects either, which made me feel quite disappointed in me. I'd love to blame it all on the hot weather or the depression associated with the chronic insomnia, but I guess I have no real excuse for procrastinating in this area, again. At least I had time and the proper mood to admire other people's works and that is ok. I also had time to enhance my French and Spanish skills, for I needed that for sure. There were great things going on and horrible ones too. I've lost a dear person just a few days ago, but I guess I'm still numb. I've finally read "Into the wild" - hence the title of this journal - by Jon Krakauer, after seeing the amazing movie months ago. Reading this book was both soothing and painful, in a way, because it brought back many old thoughts. I won't tell you about it because you should read it yourself, but if you saw the movie....you mainly know what the book is about. Anyway, inspired by McCandless's journey, I've decided to create a journal feature based on nature and wild places.
I've got nothing else to say now so I'll go back to enjoying this lovely Autumn day and be glad about the fact that my favourite season is finally here. I would love to hear about your vacation, the places you've been to, the things you did etc., but I'm under the impression that few will tell a story here so...I'll just leave you with these beautiful artworks.
Take care,
K.

A thanking journal...
Hello, everyone!It's been a while - yet again - , but only two months this time. It could've been worse, it could've been more :))First of all, I'm here to thank my anonymous donator who's given me a 3 months subscription. I don't know who or where you are, but I deeply appreciate this birthday gift. I hope that this surprise will motivate me to write more feature journals and to restart posting photos. I've been away for my birthday, celebrating it along with my best friend, who has her birthday two days before me, and I've taken some photos I am satisfied with. It's hard when a thing you've been doing for years and very often, suddenly b...
We have nature, we have it all
Today's feature is all related to nature and a certain quote I have in mind:“...and then, I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?”
~ Vincent van GoghSo, let us all enjoy these artworks inspired or filled with natural elements in all their grace.
Weekly feature: Mattias Adolfsson
Funny, terribly intricate, serious, insightful, full of meaning, complex and beautifully coloured, these are the works of Mattias Adolfsson.
You may know his art already, but just in case you didn't, indulge yourself in looking at it.Over and out :}
