Hey everyone! Wow, I've been really quiet and not submitting a whole lot here lately, huh? I apologize for that, but hopefully this journal will have answers regarding why for those who might be wondering.
As I mentioned in my previous journal, I had started school and it took up a good amount of my time for doing just about anything. When I was on the computer, I was generally at school and working so hard I didn't want to be on the computer anymore when I got home. During that time, though, I learned a lot of things - both education-wise and about myself - that I never anticipated.
So, on April 22nd of 2013 I officially graduated my classes with an honours diploma in Business Administration, and was even recommended for a position at my school's head office. Due to many little things going awry - some of which I take full responsibility for - I did not get that position in specific, but I have been put on a list of potential candidates for positions at other campuses - which would be better, anyway, since the head office is a fair distance from where I live.
On that note, I met the most wonderful gentleman on Plenty of Fish - yes, I went there. Don't knock it, I've never been so happy in a relationship before in my life. He searched, apparently, for gamer girls and happened to find me, lucky for me. I have since moved in with him and am trying to get used to life in a city that is rather unfamiliar to me and has always made me a little bit uncomfortable. Regardless, it's nice being in a relationship with someone who actually gets me - I mean, he cooks for me and always makes me lunches, but we can just talk for ages about really stupid things, or spend hours with one or the other of us playing video games without getting bored, we get each other hooked on games and shows (at the moment he has me on Borderlands 2, while I have him downstairs on day 2 of his Hunter x Hunter 2011 marathon - he refuses to do anything else, but dangit he's using the computer that has Borderlands on it to watch the show!! Ah well.)
In amidst all of that craziness, I also managed to finally get a new tablet - after having had my old Bamboo Fun since 2008, it was really starting to show its wear and tear, and it wasn't as though it didn't WORK it just... was high time I got an update. So I passed on my old tablet to one of my college teachers (the poor woman uses the computer so much she deserved something more ergonomically sound to protect her wrists) after purchasing the beautiful Intuos 5. I'm taking a LOT of time trying to get used to the fact that it's about 3x more sensitive than the Bamboo - not even just pressure sensitive, it's everything sensitive - and the fact that the tablet itself is touch-friendly, which throws me off now and then if my hands are in the wrong place.
I haven't gotten a lot of art done because of a culmination of the above information, but I promise that it doesn't meant I've stopped drawing.
If you're interested in seeing a couple things I've been working on, there are a couple works-in-progress below as proof that I am working on it, otherwise... hope you can hold out a little longer while life settles down around me a bit. I'm still looking for work and just settling into life, but I'm sure I'll be back in no time.
