Welcome to LRJProductions online art gallery!
Hello! Here you will find the varied creations of artist Lucy Johnson, stretching back to the early 2000's. The productions, if you will. It's difficult to come up with a term which encompasses everything from digital art, to ceramics and writing. If you want to know a little more about myself, my bio, or CV, is at the bottom of this journal.
Concept art for my novel series is in my Tu'en folder in my gallery.
Due to the selling up of our business and home over Christmas, the preparations for such, and then the cancellation of such, the first novel is not yet complete, however it has progressed. I have learned much through a very good network this year, and am putting it into practice, and while i dislike the delay, the improvement of the end product is dramatic.
It will hopefully be available in a standard edition, epub and paperback, and a deluxe edition, containing concept art and encyclopedias!
News about my novel and short stories progress, or availability will be updated as applies.Short stories
"Bob and Friends: bedtime stories for immature adults!" is in progress.
While I've ended of focusing more on my pottery and novel of late, I still can, and will make custom OOAK art dolls. I have a wardrobe dedicated specifically to supplies for these, so I'm definitely still available on commission!
If you have an idea you would like to see made, or order for yourself, feel free to comment here or message me!
In addition to my Etsy shop, I sell my work locally in Charters Towers, Queensland, Australia. The local information center has a small selection, and Ace Juce Bar in the Woolworths arcade also has my work on a rotating cycle in their window.
The pottery club on Hodgkinson street also now has a permanent shop space in our club, where you can come and see my, and other potters work! If you're in the neighbourhood pop in and say hi on Fridays!
I graduated Rockhampton College of TAFE in 2004 with a Diploma of Visual Arts, Majoring in Jewellery Making and Digital illustration. I also did a year of a graphic design course before finding my niche in illustration.
In 2013 I dived into One Of A Kind Art Dolls, customizing Monster High dolls into works of fiction and fancy.
2015 saw me beginning to attend Charters Towers Pottery Club with a friend on Saturdays. I was hooked. Clay is so malleable, it is truly only restricted by the imagination, and yet one can make such useful things with it. So that became my new obsession.
Perusing the gallery chronologically you will see the progression of skill over time in each field explored, and then the shift into another field. One thing often compliments another, and even now the graphic design course I did not complete has given me the skill to design all of my own graphic arts, and given me the ultimate creative control of my brand.
Through all these other art forms, I have always had a novel bubbling up from within. The first version of this story began as I switched from telling stories while I played with dolls, to practicing typing for junior high school. It was only 5 years ago however, when I sat myself down, and began to write properly, in earnest. Now the first of a trilogy nears completion, and I am excited about the final product which is finally coming to true life!
I hope to share it with you very soon!
In case you were wondering if I'm still active..
This page is always alive, and checked upon regularly, even if the journal is old. I spend more time making the art than I do hounding the internet, so I tend to make, photograph, and upload in large batches of work, and then appear inactive for months.
but I'm always here, and always at the email below.
