Helix failed to notice the unease Viroxel was feeling over his sincerity, but appreciated the words of encouragement from the man. The wolf still looked at him with a growing sense of admiration, but as the lights fizzled out his attention fell away from the previous conversation. Helix was silently glad for it: dredging up these memories left him feeling more vulnerable than he cared for. They might not have been his memories, but it still felt like they were, and he was more content pushing them down at this point.
When Viroxel chuckled, Helix's head cocked to one side curiously, "Wha-?" But before he could ask, the light bloomed from the man's skin, cutting off any words that might have fallen from his lips.
