The Two Brothers- Opening Scene

The hairs on the back of Jimmy's neck rose just as he stepped inside his apartment. He hesitated a moment before walking in fully and shutting the door. After the bright fire pits downstairs, the apartment appeared dark to his eyes, but he knew he was not alone. Only one person would dare to enter Jimmy's apartment when he wasn't present. "Brandon," Jimmy said. There was a sharp intake of breath from the person on the couch. "And I'm supposed to be the mind reader." Brandon's voice sounded close to the door, but he hadn't stood up yet. If he had wanted to fight, he would have attacked already. "You're creepy when you want to be, bro." Jim

"You're a Ghost." The moonlight cast a shadow from a nearby tree across his face, covering him in patches of darkness and light. He didn't grin at her. There was no expression. His eyes were exactly what she expected cold eyes to look like. "You know about that?" The damp, chilly air crept from her exposed neck down to her spine. Ghosts were a myth whispered about among the tribe members. A rank outside of the normal tribe structure, they were said to

Henri's office was an old dusty storage room, hidden away in one of the larger abandoned buildings. Jimmy took his time stepping into the office, trying not to kick up any of the dust. Jimmy swiped at the bottom of his nose. The office was as bad as Henri's apartment. All of the windows were shut tight and the air was warm and stuffy. It seemed Henri enjoyed the uncomfortable air otherwise Jimmy would think that it was a strategic move meant to make his rare visitors uncomfortable. Jimmy cleared his throat softly and waited at the door. Henri was at his old desk taking notes in a journal and hadn't heard Jimmy approach. He closed the noteboo

Brandon opens the door slowly letting the light lead him into the room. I sit up and grab my glasses from the side table, wanting to be prepared even though I don't know what I need to be prepared for. There's no smile on his face as he steps over to me and puts the lamp down on the table. "You're scared of the dark." He doesn't ask. I glance up at him and nod without bothering to offer an explanation. There really isn't any. Brandon isn't a tall man but I have to glance up at him from my spot on the bed. He's also not a small skinny man. His body is thick, but not fat. "Mind if I sit down?" I lift my feet up to make room for him as my hea

I press my cold toes against the insides of my shoes and curl my limbs closer to my body. The blanket is so perfectly tucked in that it looks like a part of the mattress meant more for show than actual use. I doubt I'd be strong enough to actually pull it up, and I probably wouldn't want to lay under it either considering how uncomfortable it is to lay on top of. Thoughts tumble around inside my head painfully as my stomach rumbles, twisting with the realization that I haven't been fed and the thought that they might never come back. I don't sleep because I can't even with the light overhead cutting away shadows. And because I remember. In

My Bio
I’m a quiet introvert– until you get to know me. I harbor a not-so-secret crush on Isaac Asimov, enjoy comic books, and like saving old Atari video games from thrift stores and junk shops.

I write speculative fiction (or perhaps it’s more accurate to say Soft/sociological Science Fiction) about a world where humans were once experimented on creating beings with powers. Disturbing multi-dimensional characters and strange situations are my thing.

Current Residence: Californa

Greetings!

This is my special page just for writing. I don't bother calling myself a writer and I'm not concerned with calling myself an author. I just write, and I can't help it. Coming soon, I will be publishing an e-book (with the goal of putting it in print eventually). More information on the book and the series can be found here: http://ruindestruction.com/ Feel free to drop me a note. I'm pretty friendly, though I'm a lazy introvert.
