Okay finally. I have things in order. Except for subscriptions, but that can wait until I get a job.

MissMackenzi is my new drawing account (main account if you want to refer to it like that, I'll be watching friends and such on that one)
MisMarta is for my photography. I can't keep it together anymore, it's just bothering me to have it like that in one gallery.

This account stays for stamps and such fun things, and to remember how long I've been on DeviantArt. 6 years! Gotta love it.
I'll be rewatching everyone (I have like ten million people to sift through, hopefully it'll ease up on my inbox. I'll re-fav stuff too, not everything but my collections and other notable things.
I'll probably leave up most of my more popular stuff and just hide it. Otherwise... rewatch me if you like my art?
Hooray for fresh starts!
(Hopefully college will be this easy.)

Recently I've had thoughts, mostly varies, but all along the lines of "Okay, I've got this figured out", "I'm pretty happy how I am", "Life is going pretty smoothly" and "I've finally got a plan for the future". Then, somehow, after this sense of content starts to settle (over lumps of little lingering anxieties, but I digress), key components of my life somehow completely change and I'm met with a whole new perspective. It's like, once the universe thinks I'm steady on my own two feet, that means I just need a monkey wrench in my best-laid plans.

Oh, wait, the "Best laid plans of mice and men" philosophy. I forgot about that before I started typing this. But I guess that explains everything: no matter what we plan or how foolproof it is, something can and will go wrong, because there is no way to have 100% control.

Okay, maybe I answered my own inquiries.

Still, has anyone else had experiences like this? Is this how the rest of life is going to be? I'm staying optimistic that I can still handle it.

(P.S. I am 18 and 7 months and somehow I got jury duty? Is this common?)

In addition/update
I'm going to post my daily horoscope here, so I can share with someone how incredibly accurate it is. Today for Scorpio:

"You are on edge today as the Moon moves into your sign. You may feel exhausted because your mood swings can be hard to manage. Fortunately, you are able to take them in stride when you know what to expect. Nevertheless, delaying an important decision is a good idea now, so don't let anyone talk you into making a choice under pressure. It's your prerogative to wait until you're completely ready before making your move."

This fits today to a T. Thank you for giving me some good advice.

Well, it's sort of weird, because I don't really feel any different. What I am super aware of is that I have no obligations to my family or education anymore. I'm a legal adult, so it's 100% possible to take a plane and just leave it all behind, start a life somewhere else. I can do whatever I want (except drink) and this new freedom is sort of weird. I'm glad I already have my college plans so I can figure out what I'm gonna do with my life. That's what college really is, a place to learn what to do with your freedom.

I haven't done features in a while.

Even when I don't have time for art I have time for movies it seems. They are my #1 choice for procrastination these days. First, short reviews. No spoilers.

Howl's Moving Castle :star::star::star::star:
Brilliant as always from this studio, though maybe lacking the magic of some other films like My Neighbor Totoro. Of course, like those other films, it's the little details and fun characters that still bring it to life. And as always a happy, feel-good story.

Shutter Island :star::star::star:
I have very mixed feelings about this movie. For one, I finally understand why everyone loves Leonardo DiCaprio. He's so fantastic, and easy on the eyes if you know what I'm saying. Also, the plot is beyond fantastic and is anything but predictable. It's the story and the ending that got me. In this case it's not that it's a bad movie, it's just not to my tastes.

The Wolfman (1941) :star::star::star:
The only reason this one wasn't highe was because it's a little lacking in action. I realise it's an older film, and perhaps I am too used to Jimmy Stewart gracing the screen when I watch old films, but it wasn't as interesting as I was expecting. Still good, of course. I loved the actors and I thought every role was pretty well done.

The Wolfman (2010) :star::star::star::star::star:
This is one of my new favorite movies! I loved it! Every moment was exceptional. The casting was perfect, the acting was superb. Sure it could have been creepier, maybe a little more subtle, but the characters and story mad up for it. I am absolutely in love with Benicio Del Toro now, and of course Hugo Weaving is always going to be my hero. I would seriously reccomend this one to anyone who can stomach it (and the gore isn't too bad to be honest). Just go see the original first.

Inglorious Basterds :star::star::star::star:
I absolutely loathe war movies, but somehow Q.T. made a picture that even one as emotionally fragile as I could not only view all the way through but actually enjoy. It was hilarious, first off. Brad Pitt was superb. I also liked the foreign languages. I don't think many people enjoy reading subtitles but I don't mind, and now that I know some German it was a neat experience. And to be expected it was full of action and visually stunning scenes, as well as posesing an insane "Hell yes!" attitude.

Secondly, a fun movie meme. I don't know how many people will actually guess but I'd like to see others participate in their journals because it's so much fun to read these. I can't offer any art rewards now because I'm so busy/lazy (odd combo isn't it) but I hope you at least have some fun reading it.

1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions.
5. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and
put who guessed it and the movie.

(I picked 17 since I love so many movies.)
(Oh and, in a couple of these quotes I took out names that would have given it away, but they're otherwise "intact".)

1.  "Speak your mind." "That would be unwise." "What is necessary is never unwise."

2.  "There's a monster outside my room, can I have a glass of water?"

3.  "He comes on with his big, innocent farm boy routine, but I could see through that in a Peloponnesian minute."

4.  "I've always thought that it was out of character for David to drink anything as corrupt as Whiskey." "Out of character for him to be murdered, too."

5.  "You know what you done there? You told my story, you told my whole story right there, right there. One time, I told you I was gonna make you somebody. That's what you done for me. You made me somebody they're gonna remember."

6.  "Once again you've put your keen and penetrating mind to the task and as usual come to the wrong conclusion."

7.  "Trees and people used to be good friends. I saw that tree and decided to buy the house. Hope Mom likes it too."

8.  "You know, some guys just can't hold their arsenic."

9.  "I wish I could do something about this. But I can't. But I can promise you two things. One: I'll always look this good. Two: I'll never give up on you... ever. "

10.  "Life in a box is better than no life at all, I expect. You'd have a chance, at least. You could lie there thinking, 'Well. At least I'm not dead.'"

11.  "Yeah, she was in great pain! Then we cut off her head, and drove a stake through her heart, and burned it, and then she found peace."

12.  "How humiliating! Chased into a hole by 1/3 of a B.L.T.!"

13.  "Thank you, sir. You look really nice today. It's the green. It brings out the seriousness in your eyes."

14.  "All women have the same color when the candle is out."

15.  "It's funny to think that just a year ago, I sat in that Knightsbridge Pub actually planning to murder her. And I might have done it, if I hadn't seen something that changed my mind." "Well? What did you see?" "I saw you."

16.  "This was a long time ago, you understand? A LONG time ago. I was a real terror then. I was a real animal. And I was hungry, ALL the time!"

17. "You do believe me, don't you? I loved your mother with a passion like the burning of the sun. Her death finished me, I was devastated. But I still prowl the house at night, searching for her. But I'm dead all the same. Look into my eyes, you see that I am quite dead."

I wish I could change the account name. Ho-hum. But since I can't, I've already made one that's a bit betterly named. I don't want to switch just yet because I have to decide how I want to do it, plus I don't really have the time to start another project with all this school work. I am also not sure if I should have a seperte account for photography and drawings. I know I don't want that stamp I made on my new account. Hopefully it will just be for really awesome artwork. I'd also like a stock image account to store and share those hundreds of shots that turn out nice but don't see the light of day.

She's so unintentionally funny sometimes. Here are some sample conversations.

(I show my mom an animation on the computer of somebody hitting an upside-down horse with a stick)
"See mommy? Beating a dead horse- get it?"
"Well sometimes they teach them to lie down..."

(She shows us a card she got at Costco)
"I got this at Costco today, it's for deaf people. There was this deaf guy selling them, and he said- well, he didn't say anything-"

(Watching the Winter Olympics)
Sister: "What's the highest score they can achieve?" (skater just got 181+ points)
Mother: "TEN right?"
Myself: *laughing* "They hold up those cards with numbers!"

*mom comes in with sunflower head bigger than dinner plate*
Mom: Look how huge it is!
Sister(Morgan): Wow that's big!
Me: Oh gosh it's huge! ... What if it was a fly eye?
Mom: Euww, that would be big.
Sister: Then it wouldn't be a fly... it would be a soar.
*a bit later*
*mom reads conversation above when I post it on Facebook*
Mom: Morgan, what's a soar?

(Don't Stop Believing comes on the car radio)
Mom: Who sings this? :?

Movie Journal- Sherlock Holmes/Avatar

Firstly, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, or a happy holiday season so far.

I just returned from seeing Sherlock Holmes. That's right, I saw a movie opening day, and I waited in line and everything. And boy was it worth it! Robert Downey Jr. is really growing on me. He has a fantastic abililty to play so many different characters. I hadn't seen anything with Jude Law in it previous to this (at least that I recall) but I really liked him as well. He's sort of cute. ;) I thought every single actor played their role well, not a single person was out of place. Maybe because I can't as easily differenciate between various British accents. At any rate it was simply fantastic.

Avatar was... well, it wasn't a miracle of plot or writing or dialouge. I loved the CGI of course, who didn't? If you go for movies just for that you'll be beyond satisfied. If you're looking for some plot that's new and original I wouldn't really count on it. It's not that it's bad, just a bit recycled. But it was worth seeing, and I hear the 3D version is fantastic.

There were lots and lots of previews, most of which I'm interested in seeing at some point. Disney's got this movie coming out, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, that I was hell-bent on seeing until the preview revealed who was playing the main character. Then I just wanted to shoot Nicholas Cage in the head, because I know that even if I go to see the movie just for the fun CGI, he's still going to ruin it for me. Damn that man! :(

I am so happy! They called my house and said I was accepted and I'd be getting a letter in the mail. It feels like the door has oppened and I can start preparing for the next stage of my life. This is exciting. I also have more motivation to fill out scholarships. Huzzah! It's like I'm becoming an adult one step at a time. A truck, a debit card, and now I'm gonna be going off to college fall of 2010. It's so odd.
I actually had a moment the other day when I was home alone, and I thought to myself, this is how it will always be when I move out. :( And I almost started crying. That's why I'm gonna be sticking with my friends more than ever until I adjust not constantly being around my family. Fortunately my dear friend Jazz is going to the same college as me. We'll be roomates if all goes well. Now we just need na-ashje-ii to get her butt back here and we'll be one big happy friend familly again!

Well it's hardly Harvard, and it's the least of our three big in-state universities (and the one without a kick-ass football team to boot, as well as a lumberjack for a masot), but I feel really accomplished and grateful that they accepted me.

P.S. I didn't make a journal on my birthday, but I'm 18 now.

Movie Journal

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 12, 2009, 12:40 PM
  • Listening to: More classic rock
  • Reading: NaNoWriMo forums
  • Watching: Kolchak: The Night Stalker
About movies I've seen recently and what I thought of them.

Zombieland: :star::star::star::star::star:
This is the funniest movie I have seen all year. The nightmares of a zombie apocalypse were totally worth it. I would watch this movie over and over.

Twilight: :star::star::star:
Not as bad as I'd heard, but maybe because my expectations were so low. The main two characters seemed really bland. But it was nicely put together, if not a masterpiece.

He's Just not that Into You: :star:
This was a lame movie. The only storyline I liked was the Jennifer Anniston/Ben Affleck one, but the rest made me feel ashamed to be a female. Just a ton of retarded things happening. This was just a waste of time to watch.

Ghost of Girlfriend's Past: Negative ten stars
I hate Matthew McConaguhey!

The Proposal: :start::star::star:
This was actually pretty cute. Maybe I have a weak spot for Ryan Reynolds and his adorable humor. As long as you don't try to take the movie too seriously, it'll be funny and enjoyable. And how can you resist that man's body?!

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: :star::star::star::star::star:
If there was ever a brilliant, painfully hilarious movie for young children that rivals the magic of the classic Disney flicks and certainly surpasses them in comedy, this is it. I was told I laughed obnoxiously loud during this movie, but I was too busy laughing to notice. It's was incredibly cute and witty, and the best part of all, nothing in there was heartbreaking enough to make me cry. If you've ever seen Tigger's Big Movie, you'll know what I'm saying when they can really slap you in the face with unnecessary tearjerkers in children's cartoon movies. But not here! 100% hilarity!

Henry Poole Is Here: :star::star:
This movie is advertised as a comedy, but I hardly think it qualifies. It has its moments, but it wasn't especially enjoyable (much less funny). It's dark and depressing, mostly, and also pretty dull, once you realise the plot isn't about to pick up but you've been sitting through it for the past hour.

Daddy's Birthday: Success

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 15, 2009, 12:46 AM
  • Reading: Jane Eyre
  • Watching: Harry Potter 6
  • Playing: SSX3
  • Drinking: Water
Well it was a good day. On Sunday it was my dad's birthday. He really enjoyed it. He turned 50! So we went all out with the presents!
We got him a 50$ giftcard to the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, a coffe place that is infinitely better than Starbucks in every way. We got him a tea strainer and some expensive teas, including some 20$ green tea that is in hand-rolled pearls, called Phoenix Dragon Jasmine. We went to WalMart for ideas and came out with a frying pan, a set of cups, a set of bowls, a large popcorn bowl, and a vaccum cleaner, all in a matching green color. We got him a candle set, too. He needs more stuff for his appartment so he was really happy about that.

But the best present we got him
a fantastic

iCarly beach towel. (:
He LOVED it! He laughed so hard!
He started watching it when my sister and I would watch TV at his appartment, and he thinks it's hilarious. He even turns it on when we're not there, sometimes. He jokes "I'm probably the only adult who watches this!"
(He watched Hannah Montana today when he took my sister and I can my cousins to his appartment, and thought that was alright, too.)

To kick off the celebration we had seen Transformers earlier last week. My dad really likes movies so we go often, especially when it's so hot outside.

His brother came out to visit and I thought that was really special. They live up in Maryland as opposed to our Arizona, and since their mom passed away my uncle hasn't been out here to visit. So he came, and he kept saying that he had to pick up the present he got at a store on Saturday (he came out Thursday rather unexpectedly), and he had to be careful that the store didn't close. Which at the time didn't sound suspicious, just like he wanted my dad to know he actually got him something this year. But when he left around 7:30 Saturday night and didn't come for almost two hours we began to suspect that something was up.
The last thing we all expected was for him to walk in the front door with my dad's sister following behind! It was so cute! She hadn't said anything and had visited even less than my uncle, but then shows up at his appartment for his birthday. (: It was the best surprise ever, and I thought it was great seeing them all together.
Though my dad agrees with me that it's strange how they both will never answer a question directly. But they are all three very funny people and prone to joke-making.

On Sunday we went to our house and made my dad and uncle grill for us in 115 degree heat, haha. He got it done real fast. His birthday lunch was filet mignon (courtesy of himself hahahahahaha), cuscus, orzo, salad, fruit salad (I made that!) and keish. His desert was chocolate fudge ice cream cake with a layer of oreo crumbles. He opened his presents and much merrymaking ensued.

His sister left on Monday very early (she had to work), and his brother left today (Tuesday, since it's past midnight for me and so already Wednesday) to drive back. They spent the time at his appartment with him and he treated them to nice late breakfasts; I hope they all had a good time.

Today (Tuesday) was a recuperation day for him. A break in the festivities. He drove my sister and I to the driver school for our 6 hour driving class (no break for us :( ), and he moved some furniture for my mom then took a nap.

Tomorrow is the final day of celebrating. We're going to see Harry Potter if it's possible (he likes the movies because it's his namesake; his favorite book is Harold and the Purple Crayon. :) ). We will probably go out to eat with him and I am going to suggest traveling downtown since they got the lightrail system going, and just walking around. Maybe later we will hunt down some art galleries. I'll bring money and maybe I can find him another present, or pay for the movie tickets if I find enough.

I think it's the best B-day he's had in years. I had fun planning it!

With love, Mackenzi

I know, really delayed. But here it is finally. Soon I'll be getting my licesne, too. Haha. I am so lazy.

But anyway!

Beautiful front bumper

That's right, here it is. Awesome huh? It's a maroon color, Silverado, 2004 I think. Power steering, not 4 wheel drive, but a V8 engine. The only thing that isn't awesome is the turning. Trucks don't turn on a dime, that's for sure.

I don't know the wheels' rim size! Ack! That's the only thing anyone asks me and I can never answer! 16'? 18'? I dunno!

Gorgeous sides, too.

This one shows the color best. I wish it were a lighter red, or bright orange actually. Aha. But beggars can't be choosers.
I forget how you call the doors that open like ths...
I think I need a cushion for the seat though, I am short and it's sorta hard to see over the front.

By friend Jazz models for us.

Here my friend Jazz models for us, unbeknowest to her. And look, my sister is in the back seat, too. It's a really comfy interior. Very bulky, you have to climb over the center consol instead of being able to slide around it like in our Suburban. Haha, yeah that's something I have to approve in vehicles. Either it's got a lot of space in the front or it's gotta be really cozy to make up for it.

The end.

There you go, my first truck ever.

OH before you go.
I need name suggestions for my truck. Doesn't matter genders.
The license plate is AEW### and I can't think of anything, those are the suckiest letters ever. If I can't think of any by September we're gonna get a new plate instead of registering it again.

PS3's come in like a billion models aparently, and the one my parents got was not the kind that has backwards compatability. Which is LAME because we have ZERO playstation 3 games.

So now we're searching for the right model. And we're seraching online since Best Buy, Target and Walmart don't sell any but the kind we already got, which doesn't play our ps2 games.

Now I know how my parents felt when DVD became the new VHS.

I don't think it's been put better than how Clint Black sung it in his song Summer's Comin'!
"Nothin' on Earth that'll get me hummin'
Like a heat wave comin' and I'll come runnin'
With her making that tan in the broad daylight
And every night is a Saturday night
And everything's right with the summer comin'
I'm the first one standin' in line"

I just can't beleive how happy it makes me! No more school! No work! I'm gonna get my driver's license and express myself artistically!  I can watch movies every night, stay up late, get up extra early, and take naps during the day! We will go on hikes in the morning and play LOTS and LOTS of badminton!

The Star Trek movie was AWESOME I cannot BELEIVE how magical it was! I am so happy that there's a chance for the new generations to get into the original Star Trek!

With love, Mackenzi

My B-Day is coming!

Still no truck photos, I have to upload them... (I'm stupid like that).
But I do have some nice features from people who have commented on the last journal, or if I thought they need a feature. P: Out of seventeen spots I got four to fill in, and the first one was required with the journal. D'oh!

1. :iconcacodaemonia:
Cthulhu Munny by Cacodaemonia Catching Comets by Cacodaemonia
There is a wide range of deviations here; a truly bizarre and wonderful gallery. Lots of colors and cool ideas; conservative is the last word I would use to describe it. It's stream-of-conscience, visual arts style. Defiantely worth a looksee!

2. :iconapril-moon:
Sacred Vows by April-Moon Eternityeternity drips in drops
makes swirls in your eyes
patterns of red and blue
dancing in waves
crashing in shores
craving a new destiny
the mermaids sing
ethereal and true
i crawl into you
et l’amour nous sauvera
Little BirdLittle girl, little bird learn how to fly ...
Make wings from your hair
and dreams out of lies.
Little girl, little bird learn how to dive ...
Make beads from your tears
and jewels from your eyes.
Little girl, little bird learn how to soar ...
Say goodbye to the ground
and never crawl anymore.

This is, saddly, the first time I've really gone through April-Moon's entire gallery. There are some solid works here; everything is made with either some witty humor or deep philosophy on life; everything is full of meaning. I really admire somebody who can express themselves as well as April-Moon can, and that talent is definately refelcted in their artwork.

After so many years... by agataylor Moogle Plushie by agataylor
Another deviant of many talents! And one of the people I talk most with online (though you wouldn't know it recently, I hardly reply to anything these days! D: ). Her gallery is full of some really neat stuff. Her drawing skills span animals and humans, and does a lot of cool fantart, as well as making her own neat characters and stories. All in all it's a very very cute gallery! :D

3. :iconjaspersautumn:
Style Meme by JaspersAutumn Canal by JaspersAutumn Secret Santa - HowlingVoice by JaspersAutumn Sea Shadows by JaspersAutumn
This is my sister. P: She is more popular than I am, she doesn't even need this feature! I decided to add her meme because it really shows how awesome she is at drawing in various styles; she doesn't just stick to one all the time and is constantly trying new things (like this, too!… ). She uses colors like she was born with a color selecter tool in her hand. ;3 And all her work is so polished and shiny!

4. :iconmothball8736:
Brace Yourself by mothball8736 Thumbs Up by mothball8736 I Like What You Say by mothball8736 Shine by mothball8736 Distraction by mothball8736
And this is my cousin. I know, what's with all the family members? I use the spoils system in my journal. P: Anyway... gosh, she is just so good at photography! I won't even pretend to have her talent for this. She is excellent at capturing people; the very essence of being human, one would say, can be seen in her pictures. She's silly, she's somber, she's wild and conservative. She has also mastered the collage-deviation as seen in the last example. If you look at just one of the galleries posted in this journal, go to this one! Please! She needs attention, she wants to be an actress. xD Her photography is worth every second!

  • Reading: The Great Gatsby
  • Watching: Cash Cab NY (I HATE THIS SHOW AUGH)
  • Eating: Toaster Strudles
The first 16 people to leave a comment here get featured.
I know I'm not popular enough for the to be a sweet deal, but it should be fun anyway.
Comment on this journal and I will select 3 of your deviations top post in this journal with a little bit of why I chose them. If you comment you then must make a feature journal and put me as the first one for a total of 17 featured people. (Note that I'm not gonna hold you to that, if you want to make just a small feature, or no feature at all, that's fine with me).

I will post my features when the slots get filled or it seems nobody else will comment.

1. Cacodaemonia

I will post pics of my truck today, too, lol.
