How to Comment - Pointers and Examples
This version has been updated:

This guide was written by ProjectComment as a Group, by deviants for deviants. Not only have we sought suggestions from our volunteers, but we have examples of constructive comments from the rest of the community as well, making this a true, collective effort. After reading this, it will be hard to not write a constructive comment.
Each category of art has its own set of pointers in alphabetical order, suggested by our volunteers. If you have any more to contribute, spot a mistake, etc. please feel free to contact us! :D

The Long Now
It's been a long
I have lost count of the ticks and tocks, but never counted in the first place. Just watching; just waiting, here in the long now. The moment that never began, that never ends, that simply is. Things once were and now they are gone. The left foot was ahead of the right, but now the right is ahead of the left. That's time. That's life passing you by. The hand was on the six; now it is on the seven, the eight, the nine.
Our world is defined by the rules of causality; no cause, no effect. The bow is plucked, the arrow flies.
I waited; I waited in lines, so many lines in banks, offices, hospitals, checkout counters, restrooms, airports, amusement park rides, traffic jams, stoplights. I waited, sometimes patiently, sometimes not for the long now to be over, to move on to the next moment, but the tick to my tock never twitched.
Every cause is itself the result of an effect. Everything is biased by our perceptions. Everything is relative.

The Kelpie
A sail on dark water cuts through the reeds beneath green willow trees and rustling weeds under the light of a bright silver moon, like the sun at high noon, the fisherman fishing, the rower his daughter. He cast out his line and let the thread swing with a whispering zing; he sat to wait for a bite in that darkest of nights, twine glowing metallic in silver moon shine. On a mirrored sky the line never twitched unless became hitched on a deep hidden log under the murk of the bog – no fish tonight to fry.
Then a ripple passed through that black water of stars – his daughter he guards and pushes away at the smell of decay while the shape underwater grew. Then with a splash a horse reared its head, a black thoroughbred with eyes dead as grey marble or ashes of charcoal. Its seaweed mane knotted and hindquarters spotted with hair become scales that morphed into a tail as it neighed in the fray with an ear-splitting wail.
The kelpie reared high and the fisherman paled, his courage

On the psychology and choosing of names
Brought to you by Super Editor
Many authors struggle with names. After coming up with a character who perfectly fits his or her intended role, planning personality traits, clothing, hobbies, and physical descriptions, now you have to sum all of that character's being up in a name!
There is an incredible number of ways to choose a name. Often authors are baffled by the vast array of first names and surnames that could be given to a character, and it's almost impossible to start. Whether you're hoping for a name that could belong to any girl on a street or a fantasy warrior from planet Xyla, there are infinite ways of choosing a name.
Ordinary Names
The best way to find ordinary names is a list. Sometimes one might choose a name that actually means something, while other times one might hope for an ordinary name with little more meaning than "her mom liked it."
