It is with a very heavy heart that I make this post concerning the passing of Julie Strain. As reported by Heavy Metal Magazine, she passed away on January 10th, 2021 from complications of dementia. From the information that has been published it is my understanding that in her early 20s, Julie suffered a head injury which caused severe amnesia and she lost the memories of her early childhood. I spoke with Julie just a few years ago and she seemed to be her usual bright, happy, and energetic self. Fast forward a few years after that, and I learned of her deteriorating health from her partner who posted about it on Facebook. I first met Julie in 1999 at the San Diego Comic Con. She was a beautiful woman in movies and photos, but was even more striking in person. At the height of 6'1", I have to admit I was a little intimidated at first.
