I have been engaged over the last couple of weeks (months, actually, whenever time off work and inspiration struck) in developing a working crossover between my Age of Steam, Steel and Iron background and the historical fictional work of Pelycosaur24. In particularly, I'm working on a transplanting of her character Fürstin Marie Luise Sophia Nathalia von Eggenberg, a feldmarshal of the Austrian Empire into the expanding histories of my blog stories. After some text inquiries to Pelycosaur24 and her delighted encouragement, I began the work in earnest. In Pelycosaur24's work, Marie Luise serves in the Wars of the Coalitions/Napoleonic Wars starting in the 1790s until her death during the Battle of Leipzig in 1813. I found the character fascinating and mused on what would have happened to her, had she NOT died in 1813 but lived on to take part in the numerous wars, insurrections and revolts as well as other diplomatic incidents that marked Austria's history in the 19th century.

Heavier-then-air aircraft i.e. aircraft or airplanes are a fairly recent innovation in the A.A.S.S.I. background although the principles of flight have been well understood since Antiquity. Innovation in aircraft design lead to the development of lighter-then-air travel becoming widespread before the 19th century, via the medium of hot air balloons and those using later lifting gas of superior performance such as hydrogen and helium gas. Further experimentation lead to the development of blimps, semi-rigid and rigid dirigibles or airships. Attempts to develop steam powered aircraft however were something of a dead end as the particularities o
