Yeah... I'm not a homophobe, but I really HATE when people just HAVE to sexualize everything or else they just don't like it... come on! Sora and Riku are best friends! FRIENDS!!! same goes for Axel and Roxas, they're almost brothers... man... come to think of it... I've even seen yaoi about TMNT... and they are four brothers... and turtles... and ninjas!!! how sick can people be?!?!? yaoizing TMNT!?!?!? COME ON!!!!!

And no, I'm not a Yaoi hater, if someone makes some yaoi anime it's ok, I'm not watching it ever, but I won't hate it, what I hate is when people sexualize stuff, I hate those stupid "Rinoa VS Kairi" or "Peach VS Daisy" couples... it's really annoying...

And though I disagree with the message behind it, I gotta say you have AMAZING art skills...of which I'm jealous....I especially love the way you drew Donald's expressive eyes! Donald's clearly like "WTF?!?!" Axel's like (That IS Axel, right?) "Hmmm...didn't see THAT comin'" And Roxas is like "Oh, brother..not another one!" Funny!

I disagree...but it's AWESOME!!!

XD thanks, I don't consider myself that talented (as to inspire jealousy on someone) but thanks a bunch for that anyway.

And yeah, he's Axel, you know, because he's cool and also 'cause he's the one that is always drawn doing horrible things to poor Roxas -___-

If I were Roxas I would totally hate Yaoi, I know that.
thepagansun's avatar
LOL! Well, I didn't know if it was Axel or Lea or whatever...honestly they look the same to me! Honestly, the whole KH plot has me in a tizzy! -_- But yeah...you're that good.

Oh, and thanks again :$

You're welcome!

Mmmmh... He could be Lea and Axel... you know, as they are just one actor playing two characters in the game, right? same as Roxas there, who is also Ventus.
thepagansun's avatar
Like I said...I watch KH for Donald (Although if we were REALLY going by canon universe I shouldn't even LIKE KH since they totally killed his character in THIS universe IMO...he should've been the warrior...not Goofy -_-). Part of the reason is that KH is totally confusing now. Xion, Roxas, Ventus, etc. are somehow ALL Sora? And the chronological time set for KH goes back and forth between games...I'm surprised younger kids can even keep UP with this...O_O
LordTerrato's avatar
LordTerratoProfessional Digital Artist
Yeah, KH is really messy, I highly doubt that kids even get the complete story and all the twists... they maybe just play it for the action and the bright colors and stuff... :/

Oh yeah, and the Disney and FF characters.
thepagansun's avatar
LOL...And it's BOB the Builder (not Joe). And yes...somewhere out there, he probably IS doing Diego...;)

Dude, gimme a break -___- I don't even watch TV... I had to ask a friend for some reference like that, that's what she told me...

This is great artwork and it's funny and all but *rolls eyes* Dude, come on guys, And you tell US to grow up??? It's fan ART and FICTION, people! I mean, get over it!!! Nobody says you have to see or read it! If you guys hate people telling you what to draw or write, we feel the same way!! Jeez, you guys act like there's not PLENTY of heterosexual or canon couples to go around! I personally find THOSE boring, but you don't see US bitchin'! LONG LIVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND EXPRESSION!!! LONG LIVE YAOI!

I don't have anything against homosexual people, I have homosexual friends and I love them without caring about that, even though I'm straight, it's like preferring hamburgers instead of pizza, I don't care about that. BUT, it still seems SICK to me that fixation that people has with sex, SEX in general, not gay sex, not straight sex, just S-E-X. And yes, is even sicker to me when you need to put sex in the equation even when there is no reason for it to be there, it even seems like... kind of hypocritical to me.

Is as if I met a girl and told her: "You know what? I like you and all, but... could you please change your name to 'Jeanne'? I mean... 'Tanya' sounds boring. "

NO, if you really like something, then show it, respect that something as it is, like it as it is. You find straight relations boring, or stories without sex (I assume, like Kingdom Heart's) boring... ok, so, don't listen to them or don't play those games or don't watch those movies. But if you do like them, just learn to accept them as they are, without deforming everything, 'cause when you do that, you're not taking the story, you didn't even really like it in the first place, you just found a new vessel to put your own story once again. What's the point? If I go to the movies to watch "The incredible Hulk" and come back home and say "well... the character was cool... but... I'll write some fan fics about it... ok, let's see... it would be way better if Bruce Banner was gay and the Hulk was his boyfriend and Colonel Ross was Betty's husband and The Abomination was Bruce's and the Hulk's adoptive kid... yeah, that works!"

...WTF?... if that's the way it's gonna be, then don't even bother playing the games, I don't really understand what's the point... the great thing about most great games are their stories, and you twist them all around to make them something totally different and perverting everything that was awesome about them, like the love (as in "FRIENDSHIP" kind of love) between Roxas and Axel, Sora and Riku, Donald and Goofy, etc. WHY THE ...FRACK do you need sex for it to be great? why is just friendship not good enough for you?

Do you understand why I find this so difficult to comprehend and why it really bothers me? I'm straight and I don't go all over the world lesbianizing (is that even a word?) Rinoa and Kairi or Bayonetta and Faith Connors, and stuff. Sex might be fun, but I don't need to pour sex on everything to appreciate it. If you do, then by all means, but "Long live freedom of speech", right? so let me say that I think you have issues, dude. And it's my right to say that as much as it is yours to come here and rant about it.

So, like you said: "Nobody says you have to read the rants people write about yaoi", you like it? go and enjoy it, I just don't understand what's cool about it, not yaoi, not yuri, not hentai, not even common porn.

Yeah, maybe I'm the weird one. Whatever.

Well, I read your description before I posted and I get that you're not a homophobe or anything. (Oh and just a warning when I capitalize a word, I'm not yelling. I'm emphasizing.) I get that. So sorry if I came on a little harsh. But you gotta understand that MOST slash or yaoi (well maybe not most, but a LOT) is mainly fluff. Fluff is like little stuff like kissing, holding hands, hugging, etc. not really ACTUAL sex. Showing actual private parts or sex scenes are pretty rare. And I mean...I read a lot of lemons in my time (both straight and yaoi) but usually those things come with a warning like: "Beware...slash! Or...lemons" And especially on Deviant art, it's supposed to be rated mature content if it's going to contain nudity or sexual suggestions (and I mean I know that not everyone follows the rules but I would say most do) So I guess...if simply adding sexuality into the mix is what you have a problem with, I don't really understand since the ACTUAL sex or nudity or whatever should either be rated as such or at LEAST contain warnings. And I mean I understand and respect your opinion, but what I have a problem with is that I THOUGHT (again I thought, you might not be one of them) you were one of those people that even with all the ratings and warnings in the world, you ignore them, read or see the art and then complain. Like people who read slashy fan fics when the warnings were in place only to flame later! THAT'S what I don't get. And I mean, if it's sexuality in general when it's not supposed to be there that bothers you, maybe you should've wrote or done an anti-crack pairing or something since other people that see this art might get the idea that you're JUST against yaoi. Not that I'm trying to tell you what to do with your own art, but just pointing out this is why some might get upset.

I respect your opinion on liking something as it is, but I beg to differ. The whole point of fan art and fan fiction is to let your imagination wander! It's like if you thought Harry should have been with Hermione instead of Ron (lol...No, I'm not a Harry potter person, this is just an example) you could write your own story or do a drawing. So...YES! I mean, the glory of art and fiction is the very fact that opinions DO differ and if you want people to respect yours, you gotta respect theirs. There's no law that says you have to read or see such things if you don't want to. If there's a an art or fan fic you like at first but then find out it contained yaoi or sex and they didn't have warnings in place in the first chapter, you every right in the world to respectfully tell them to consider putting them in! But if the warnings ARE there and people CHOOSE to see them anyway...then I'm sorry but they're hypocrites. Either that or they just want to judge. (Again, not saying YOU specifically just other people that have done that in the past) Plus, many times the writers or animators of said cartoons and stories put in sexual tension because they know that people will write their own stories about them. (It's been said JK Rowling read fan fics of her own stories before publishing her final books!)

For example...(lol..again sorry I'm not into Twlight). In the books and movies Bella has to choose between Edward and Jacob. In the end, she chooses Edward (rolls eyes...surprise...surprise). According to you then, there shouldn't be ANY Bella and Jacob fics or art or sexuality when the whole point was that although they ended up friends, there was a long struggle to see who she choose??? I would personally hate all fics and art if they ONLY ever showed canon pairings. That's like saying, "Oopps..no sorry, Cleopatra you had Julius Caesar already...no Mark Anthony for you!" Life isn't like that. It leaves TONS of rooms for expression and change. It's complicated.

The uh...hehe..funny thing is that even DISNEY is pretty sexual now, especially with Donald. (Now I don't mean to rape your childhood or scar you but...I'm a Three Caballeros yaoi fan and a Donald/Pete fan...lol...I know! I know! Sick. You'd be right about that last one) Pete is very confused. In the pre-school show "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" he's a PRINCESS in one episode and hugs Goofy (who's a knight) tightly. They eventually put "her" (and yes, they refer to Pete as a "her in that episode) to sleep until Donald accidentally wakes her up with his singing. Pete pulls Donald off screen. Cue "kissing sounds. I kid you not. This happened. It's called "Sir Goofs-a-lot" And that was a PRE-SCHOOL show! So imagine! My point is that even the writers themselves ENCOURAGE this. You can't get mad at the fans for letting their imaginations wander if even the writers slip in hints and tension...

There's nothing wrong with friendship. There are PLENTY of friendship stories if that's what you want to see (though yes, I know in KH it's overridden by yaoi fans. Things are the way they are.) But friendship stories DO exist. But, just like in real life friendship may not always STAY friendship. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors or in a few years after the canon???? I'd rather have the OPTIONS of finding different art and fics than seeing the same old, same old.

Umm...I didn't say YOU have issues so please be a bit more civil. And yes, it is your right to post whatever you want, but the thing Inever understand is why people must always hate on yaoi specifically. It's not like you said you hate crack-pairings or added sexuality, you said yaoi. And yaoi-haters should be a bit more sensitive to how this seems to yaoi fans when we don't go around posting art with anti-hetero or anti-canon meanings and calling people who LIKE them "sick bastards." (like on your art) So THAT'S why I "ranted." Like I said, sorry if you think I was harsh, but I've heard quite a lot of anti-yaoi in my time and as someone who likes it and doesn't go around insulting those who like THEIR pairings, I was a bit offended.

You're not weird. Just different. it'd be nice if you could respect others' right to be different, too. : /

Well, as I said: "And no, I'm not a Yaoi hater, if someone makes some yaoi anime it's ok, I'm not watching it ever, but I won't hate it, what I hate is when people sexualize stuff, I hate those stupid "Rinoa VS Kairi" or "Peach VS Daisy" couples... it's really annoying..."

When you talk about Twilight: if the story was about a stupid girl who had to choose between a sparkling gay vampire or a werewolf, then by all means, do fanfics about how she ended with whoever you want, the story prompted you to dream about that. But HOW did KH EVER prompted anyone to dream about Sora and Riku being gay? THAT is sick. As I said, it's not against yaoi, if someone gave me a "Kairi VS Namine" fan fic, I would consider that person a freaking sick bastard also. Yes, I'm straight, yes, I enjoy watching beautiful girls kissing. No, I would not enjoy watching Namine and Kairi doing that.

If a character/game/series/movie/novel/whatever was created for the sole purpose of telling a story about how a little green boy loves and likes to have sex with a cyborg rhinoceros from outer space, and everything that happens in the story revolves around their crazy love and stuff, and you like the story, I would not approve of you taking the boy out of context and telling a story about how he is a lawyer and has a human wife and 2 beautiful kids and the rhino is his uncle and they barely speak to each other and you never ever mention their love. Get my point? It's not about "being different" and stuff, I think is more about "honesty".

Why do people like KH? because of its great story?, its gameplay?, graphics?, music?... or they just like it because the guys in the game are handsome and they'd like for them to kiss and hug?... that's not really "liking the game" in my opinion.
thepagansun's avatar
Yeah....I know. But like I said...I guess it was just that it brought back bad memories of other people saying crap about yaoi. I know you probably only made it about it instead of crack pairings or something since you come across it so often. But others just plain HATE on it. ALL of it. And it makes me sad cuz no one's forcing them to read or see it and the people that LIKE yaoi aren't going around telling hetero or canon people to stop or calling them "sick." (Again, not talking about you. The other people. Also, why I reacted a bit harshly before although you mentioned you didn't specifically hate yaoi.)

Well...to each their own, I guess. At least, you weren't TOO harsh about it in your art. (I've seen and heard worse). But, just remember it's all in good fun! ;) Nobody says you gotta LOVE it or anything...not even like it. But...I'll always appreciate the fact that I as long as I'm not making money off anyone else's work, I can do artwork or write stories about them the way I want!

And I again respect your opinion and understand where you're coming from to a degree (I guess if I didn't like yaoi but I liked the KH universe...it would be PRETTY hard to find fics without yaoi!). But, I'm just trying to show you where WE'RE coming from. I mean, I'm sure that 80% of the people that like and write yaoi know deep down that the characters aren't like that for REAL..-_- I mean, I know I don't. No one's saying that! Well...yes, some rabid fan girl might, but come on...no one's gonna believe her. And it's not like they're gonna change the writers' mind and have Riku MARRY Sora in KH3. But creating our own world's the FUN of it!! People like whatever parts of the game they're gonna like. I for one like the fact that Donald's in it. That's about it. I don't really care about anything else in there. And no offense, but if everyone took the games and the canon so seriously Kingdom Hearts wouldn't even be a game! It got made because Square Enix & Disney probably read some fan fiction themselves one day and thought it'd be fun to make a crossover between FF and Disney characters. I know when I FIRST saw the first KH game come out my reaction was close to Donald's in your art. But now...look at them!!! It's an internationally recognized game!!! Who woulda thunk it? They're making millions!

And just like in life friendships and relationships don't stay the same, it's the same for movies, cartoons, and such. It's like one season a guy's with a girl and then the next season, he's with another one. Or maybe he starts out married and a year or two later finds out he's gay!!! It's happened in real life so why not fan fiction?

The world of change and expression gives us crossovers, alternate universes, etc. Essentially, it's the world of "what if?" Cartoons, movies, etc. are complicated so if they notice a little of sexual tension between two characters even if it's just a second, people are gonna bank on it.

Well anyway, I'm glad to find out you're not hating on yaoi SPECIFICALLY because it's yaoi (although I get that you still don't approve and that's well within your opinion), but rather because it's not canon and they sexualized something that's not. I'm not trying to get you to change your mind or anything...just understand a little better where WE'RE coming from and why we like yaoi so much. Even the things that aren't really yaoi. Remember...it's all in fun! ;)

Oh! And just out of curiosity...I wondered what you thought of that episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse I told you about since it DID happen. For pre-schoolers. LOL! I stared wide eyed. It was a sight to behold! O_O

Anyway, hope to see more great artwork from you! See ya! :)

It's not like "I don't approve" homosexual relationships or anything, it's cool, you can do with your life what you want, as I told you I have gay friends and I love to see them being happy, I don't care with whom. (Did I say that right? "whom"?)

For example, Scot Pilgim. I LOVE those comics. Dude... I L-O-V-E those freakin' comics... you can't understand how much I freakin love them, you just can't. No, you can't.

Seriously dude, don't even try.

Ok, so, I love them. And in their story... well... *spoiler alert* there are in fact gay relationships taking place (not only the 4th ex. plot) and when I got to that point in the story I was moved, far from being like "awww yuck... he's gay? WTF?!? I like that character! screw this!", I was all like "XD WTF? who would've thought? he's gay?... that is funny and charming... right on!" I don't know if "yaoi" stands for "stories where gay relationships between men take place" or "explicit sexual content with only males", but if a story (a good story, mind you) is written with gay activity in it, I will watch it and wont reject it beforehand just by knowing it has a kiss between dudes or anything. (Take "Chasing Amy" for example, I've watched that movie a lot... a lot, dude. I don't have a problem with it, I almost cry everytime -___- it's freakin' sad, but I like it anyway), what bothers me is the unnecessary twists just for dumb fan service, and I specially hate those when they're all about sex. Seems very stupid to me... we like to think we're smarter than that, but in reality, we're still beasts... right? sex is still everything to most people -___-

And about that episode you mentioned... well, yeah... that sounds disturbing... but then again... through the eyes of a child, it's only a dumb joke... problem is when adults, with our dirty minds, watch that stuff (or write it for kids XD, WTF?), but yeah, it really it's not that big a deal. I think...

I just remembered the first... well... "first thousand" times I watched "The Lion king" as a kid, never saw anything sexual in it. Then I watched it years later and got really moved by it and stuff, felt deeper in every way, more sad, more joyful and yeah... more sexual... the "Can you feel the love tonight?" scene, when Simba throws Nala to the ground and Nala kisses him, and then stares at him with those beautiful and stunning eyes... man, I got goosebumps right now just by writing about it... but as a kid I never got what was happening, I was so innocent, they were just really good friends and I knew they were going to "get married" but never, not once, did I put "sex" in the equation. Life is better when sex is just one more fun thing to do, but when it becomes your whole reason to exist... in my opinion, it sucks. -__-

(Dude, not that I'm not enjoying these chats, but don't you think we should exchange IM information or something like that? having a conversation this long here seems... weird... XD)

Oh gosh.....

...You know, I'm surprised this hasn't happened yet. *sigh*
I've said it once, and I'm saying it again. Is there any way I can divorce myself from this fandom??
LordTerrato's avatar
LordTerratoProfessional Digital Artist
Mmmh... I guess you could just stop talking to other members of it, stop reading their stuff and stop watching their fanart... :S

But this sadly applies to everything... for example, I'm not into Harry Potter, but I'm sure that there's something like this in that realm... how about Super Mario's? or even Bomberman's?, the sickest thing I can think of is most probably gathering favs and views in some deviant's gallery... Mario and Bowser french kissing or something like that... I'm sure you can find crap like that really easily... -____- and that saddens me...
fazzygrl's avatar
I was semi-joking when I asked that question, but sometimes, I get so tired of all the stuff.

Oh yeah, it's everywhere. It's not only in those areas, either. It's also in stuff like Lord of the Rings, and other fiction. It's so very saddening, like you say. Yeah, the best we can do is just try to ignore it. :)
