Description

Noctis's back, tell a friend :eyes: Everyone's favourite asshole is here yet again, fully prepared to wreck hell.

Name:
Noctis Noche Von Brandt

Pokemon: Noctowl :iconnoctowlplz:

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Height: 5'
11"

Rank: SA

Level: 100

Type: :iconnormaltypeplz:

Country: Origins from Landermacht, operates all over Orbis

Hometown:
Hausierstadt

Position: The Mythic Federation Guild Leader - He leaves most of the work to his underlings, but ultimately it is his word that matters the most. Don't ever cross him, in fact try to avoid him at all cost. The less you see of him the more your chance for happiness increases. It is incredibly hard to find him in a positive mood, and he usually takes out his anger on those unfortunate enough to mess up. Don't mess up.

Moves:
-
Hypnosis :iconpsychictypeplz: - He stares at the foe with hypnotising eyes, putting them to sleep. He likes to call it 'The Cruel Irony'.
- Dream Eater :iconpsychictypeplz: - Or as he likes to call it 'Sweet Revenge'. He eats dreams of a sleeping target, and causes nightmares if he wishes to. He absorbs the energy from the dream, healing himself and making him appear less fatigued - it is his main source of getting energy at this point.
- Psychic :iconpsychictypeplz: -  He attacks with a strong telekinetic force, that pierces through and lowers one's special defenses.
- Sky Attack :iconflyingtypeplz: - His eyes glow with a strange energy and he flies into the air, preparing for the attack. Then, his body becomes surrounded by a white aura and he flies into the opponent with tremendous force.
- Night Shade (Egg move) :iconghosttypeplz: - He makes the target see a frightening mirage. It inflicts damage matching his power level. It is his main used move when under the influence of a ghost.

Ability: Insomnia - As the name suggests, he can't fall asleep. Sleep is for the weak... and he's definitiely not weak. Definitiely.

Accessory:
- Pocket watch in his vest and a wrist one on his right hand.
- Lennon style sunglasses he bought from a friendly Altaria.
- Quite the collection of dream catchers and various ghost-repelling tags.

Personality: A cynical, snarky pain in the ass with an incredibly short temper. He loathes everything and is not ashamed to show it, letting out long suffering sighs when one dares to waste even a minute of his precious, precious time. Though his bright personality was brought to life as a defensive mechanism, he grew into it and... actually enjoys tormenting individuals, those deserving enough of his wrath. You can find him perched on the top of a tree, talking behind your back with his fellow birds, or on top of a bookcase, screaming at you about proper book care. As his face shows, he is generally unimpressed by pretty much everything, apparently having seen it all. Twice. Egoistical and full of himself, he simply doesn't care about your opinion, as his is the only one that really matters. Thanks to being a medium, his personality can rapidly change though, sometimes to a bright optimist or a fumbling shy school boy, resulting in massive headaches when he snaps back to normal. Then, he will snap at you. He thinks that his life is a sadistic play written by Arceus in three acts, the punchline being nothing but pure misery. He possesses an extremely deadpan sense of humour - one might not even notice that he's joking, but he is. Always. Usually about you. If you haven't noticed already, he doesn't really have any friends.

Talents:
- :iconpsychictypeplz: Affinity - Thanks to spells, he has access to telekinesis and forms of telepathy.
- :iconghosttypeplz: Affinity - He is much more in touch with the spiritual realm, making him capable of sensing, or even seeing ghosts and spirits that won't appear to most.

- Ghost Possession - He has a symbiotic relationship with ghosts. As a medium, he is a key for those without bodies to this world. When one takes control over his body, he becomes the person the ghost used to be. His/her feelings and scraps of memories pour into him without control and when the session ends, he might get confused over his identity. When he's attacked, the ghost will respond violently to his enemy, angry at putting his life in jeopardy. They might attack, their level depending on Noctis - the owl can only be possessed by beings with higher or same level as him (if he's in a bad condition, weaker ghosts might take their chances). Got a dead lover you wish to speak to? You know who to call.

Thanks to his close connection to the otherworld, he is very good at warding off evil spirits and knows a lot about curses. Charms, talismans - he's your man. Constant presence of the supernatural made him very sensitive to everything associated with them, for example illusions. He can immediately tell when something is real nor not. Very intelligent, he had recieved a proper education and is fluent in various languages. He loves a good debate almost as much as bullying some unfortunate soul. He prefers to fight with words rather than swords, but his personality forces him to get physical quite often. Surprisingly, he is quite sturdy for the thin, malnourished build he has. Possesses exceptional hearing and eyesight. His eyes are specially developed to enable him to see clearly even in murky darkness and minimal light and like most owls, he can fly without making any sound.

Weaknesses: Ghost possession takes its toll on his body and it tires him out quickly. Each session will leave him with a splitting headache, worsening his already sour mood. Despite his intelligence, his rash personality makes him to open his mouth before thinking, which often leads to pain - for both sides. Born in a colder climate, he absolutely loathes the heat and tends to avoid going out during the day - his eyes are sensitive to strong light (especially strong in Cereberos, where he resides most of the time), forcing him to wear sunglasses when outside. He does not have the natural Normal-type resistence to Ghost-type moves.

Background: Noctis belonged to a rich family, though not a particularly loving one. He was born without a resistence to ghosts, an abillity that comes naturally to most Normal-types, which caused him all sorts of trouble during his early and latter life. Possession by ghosts wasn't an uncommon thing since his earliest days, making him be considered a freak, even among his own blood. As he wasn't able to control it back then, the sessions were random, often and painful. To save their image, his parents had alienated him from the outside world. Kept inside, he did not have much social contact and lacked friends, who were instead replaced with books and an ocassional servant in charge of taking care of him that day. He was a bright child, his intelligence extraordinary and sustained by the great amounts of literary works he had consumed each day.
Even though the Noche family tried to be as secretive as they could, rumours started to arise and soon reached the wrong pair of ears. After a wife of a wealthy aristocrat had died, he became obsessed with finding a way to bring her back. The legends of Noctis's gift made him seek the boy out, desperate to speak with his love once again - the mania was less than healthy and had completely clouded his mind, driving the man insane. He was less than subtle about asking permission from the family - the parents slayed, he had set the mansion on fire but the child managed to escape, with the help of a friendly soul. Forced to live on the streets, life was not kind to him. His health was frail, causing his wings not to grow properly and making him unable to enjoy the gift of flight. A turn of luck made him land in a public orphanage - or rather, a whole series of them as he was still learning how to control his unusual powers. The accidents that kept on piling up would not shine a favourable light upon the young Hoothoot, making him change his home again and again, never able to set in. He wasn't popular among the peers of his age, the alienation and suspicious stares turning him harsh and cynical towars the rest of the world.

Eventually, he was found by the surviving servants of his household and had recieved back his noble title. As a sole lord he had access to proper education and living conditions, but he would never fully recover mentally - the rash, paranoid personality developed in the orphanages never quite settled down and even with money, he wasn't a popular face at the banquets. He became obsessed with the knowledge about spirits, closing himself in his room for long hours and thoroughly studying every book he could find. He taught himself about warding off evil spirits and making charms, trying to help his own person rather than others. As possessions were more likely to happen during his sleep, when his mind was most vulnerable, he tried to get as little of it as possible - developing insomnia as the result. Chronically exhausted, sleep was a thing of the past.

Finally, he joined the Mythic Federation - in hopes of finding more information about his condition and maybe even a bit of help. It eventually led him to land in Cereberos, where he became a popular face among the scholars, all equally as intrigued as put off by the eternally angry owl. The scientific prodding and experiments did nothing to make him feel comfortable, but it brought good results - as he grew in power, less and less spirits were strong enough to be of any danger. Physician care and a vast amount of potions brought him to a somewhat good shape and when the day of evolution came, his wings grew to an impressive size, appearing nothing like the little pair he could do nothing with but flap back in the day.
Though he would always feel like a lab rat in the universities, he begrudingly grew to respect the scientific community of Sihir and became a member of it - a decision he regrets even today, as the desert country was filled with everything he could not stand - sand, sun, heat and people. He climbed the social ladder of the guild, and as the old leader stepped down, Noctis was appointed as replacement - an insane decision that would forever doom the people of the Federation... in a way. Though his decisions were excellent and so far he did nothing to destroy the ground they stood on, the owl simply... detests those under his care. It wasn't long before his leadership turned paperwork exclusive, relaying orders through letters as not many could stand his leashing tongue and impressive glare.
As of today, he spends most of his time in The Grand Library, acting like a batty librarian and forever cursing the name of Aalem el-Amin, who finds the Noctowl to be a limitless source of joy and entertainment.

Other:
- A ghost magnet.
- He can stay on one foot perfectly still for hours, and his balance is perfect. He changes feet so fast, the movement can rarely be seen.
- He can rotate his head at angles that make people reaaaalllyyyy uncomfortable.
- He is nocturnal, and prefers to stay in during the day.
- Pale like a vampire and often mistaken for a vampire.
- He likes to dress with style. He can do nothing about his hair however, which is forever stuck in a bedhead limbo.
- He has a perfect sense of time. While deep in thoughts, he may start to tilt his head to the rhytm of the clock.
- Posseses a lot more watches than any healthy person should.
- While he detest Aalem, he also deeply respects the fox and would do nothing to cause his direct, pure wrath, resulting in awkward, unfinished sentences as he tries to keep his temper and tongue in check. Senpai, please notice him.

Personal Quote:
"...Cry me a river. What do you want, a trophy?"

Theme song: Brak - Don't touch me!
