wow, how do you get such wonderful and natural color? I feel like most of my images almost seem to have a color cast on them, either too blue, or too much green, and sunlight never seems to display well.

Well I only shoot RAW files so I am in total control of the image in editing. I always try to keep the image realistic and as close to how it was as I can remember.
If you shoot jpgs it means the camera is going to do some editing for you. I don't know if that is the case but I actually started shooting in RAW because I was getting colour casts in jpgs. That was some years ago but I have been shooting RAW ever since.

I shoot, raw as well for the same reasons,  but it still seems to come out different in programs, excessively blue. I believe it's a canon thing, I think i remember reading in an article that canon cameras add some sort of color "filter" (?) to pictures. which I've been struggling to overcome for a while i finally noticed the issue.

I was just wondering if there is a better way than what I found, just going through possibly hundreds of setting combinations until I find something that looks reasonably well?

Well if the colour cast is a bit blue you might want to look at the white balance on your camera.
If it is set to Auto it should produce reasonable results in most conditions. If it is too blue you may need to
increase the temperature of the shots in the camera.
If not, as you are shooting RAW you can correct the White Balance in your RAW converter whether that is
Lightroom or Photoshop Camera Raw.
It would be the first thing I would look at given what you have said.

You're right I use auto white balance, I didn't want to bother with the custom white balance. But I actually found a way of correcting the color using my program's mixer.

Wow! This is spectacular! In Finnish we have a word for this: peilityyni, which means "calm/serene as a mirror" when translated word to word. This is exactly what I have in mind when I think about peilityyni.
