Still standing by LordLJCornellPhotos Still standing by LordLJCornellPhotos
The last building standing in a deserted village near Cill Chriosd on the Isle Of Skye. In the background to the left is the mighty Blaven (Bla Bheinn) wearing it's winter coat.

Beautiful, yet a little bit sad.  Do you know why the village was abandoned?

I think the jobs moved elsewhere so the people had to move too

I would have shifted a little bit more to the left - both to bring the majestic snowcapped mountain more into the cadre and to put the building POI in a less centered position. But don't misunderstand me, it's a fantastic shot.

Thank you :)
This is just one of a series of pictures of the building I have taken on various visits. I took this like this specifically because it has both Blaven (backround left dusted with snow) and the mountain on the right with snow on. Not something I have been lucky enough to see before. It was deliberate even though the composition is slightly off.
Here are some other shots of this site.
