The glorious Rievaulx Abbey in the North York Moors National Park in northern England. An atmospheric ruin worth spending time with. Rievaulx was the first Cistercian monastery in the north of England and was founded in 1132.
Love the angle of this shot, it really emphasizes the beautiful lines in the ruins.
What on earth was Henry thinking?????
awesome history in a photo
Glorious, indeed LJ!
Super composition and P.O.V.
How many of the buildings that we put up today are beautiful enough that people would be enchanted just by their ruins?
