The big volcano near here is Snaefellsjokull and it last erupted 800 years ago which is not long in volcano terms but is long enough for me. :)
Im guessing this one that I was standing on probably was 1100 years or more ago.

Sometimes you see fields of bare lava and other times it is covered with lichens and mosses.
