A view from the top of Pokahryggur not too far from Landmannalaugar in the southern highlands of Iceland. This is at a height of 927m and winter was beginning with a fierce wind and some snow falling. There is a very clearly defined edge to the foreground where the land just falls away. The landscape beyond is just amazing.

Freezing is the word. About the coldest I have ever been. The wind was vicious.

You're right. Knowing where to look was an issue. Luckily it looked amazing in every direction. The deciding factor was the wind about which direction to be looking and standing.
