Whenever I had a crappy day at school or when I had a bad day on the job and came home in a bad mood, I knew that Dr Who would always be there, and Captain Mal would be there, and Barriss Offee would be there to cheer me up, wether reading a story or watching a rerun. That's how much I enjoy my heroes. I commissioned this piece from
, and he did a beautiful job creating this piece for me.
I commissioned this in March, in the midst of some anger and grief. Barriss Offee has been my writing muse for Star Wars fiction since about 05-06, and had become one of my favorite Jedi to use in stories. I was in a bit of shock at the Season 5 Finale of The Clone Wars, where she is portrayed as a criminal mastermind and betrays her friend Ahsoka in the last episode. I turned to my heroes again for some comfort, and this was born.
I've worked through that grief over time, and when
presented this to me, I felt a sense of peace with it. I've come to accept the changes they made to the character. The picture was made in grief, but it represents hope.
I'm ready to accept the fate Lucas has in store for Barriss Offee. Having said that, I can look at this when ever I feel depressed and know that things are not so bad. There is always hope.
This is dedicated to Barriss Offee fans who have also felt grief, who still love our Jedi heroes despite the changes forced upon us, and who still hold onto something better than what we were given when the show ended.
Not everyone in this picture is a "good guy", but they're my Heroes. They'll take a stand, never give up, and when somebody stumbles, they'll make sure no one gets left behind.
Thanks again to
for a wonderful job
As a final thought, I like telling stories with music. I thought this fit very well: www.youtube.com/watch?v=doMKS9…
