In the depths of the gorge of muddy and tainted waters, there were plenty of teams of Pokemon helping to collect some water to purify them later, one team in particular whose members are a Ralts and a Goomy, on their first mission.
The Ralts, Serene, was dragging a bucket of the tainted water out of the gorge, her white dress all messy and caked in mud. After successfully dragging it out, she sat it down on a dry ground as she sat down to rest, panting lightly as she brushed her hair out of her face.
“Saaarah!” Serene called out, sprawling out on her back as she waited for an obnoxious response from her partner, wherever the Goomy may be at... swimming in the tainted waters?
Serene’s eyes widen, quickly sitting up and checking back at the river banks, expecting to see a blob of slime rolling about in the toxic waters. Isn’t the water dangerous if consumed? It was then a blob of slime came rolling out, looking a bit ill. “I feel funny,” Sarah mumbled, her mood strangely low.
With a gasp, Serene scrambled to her feet and ran towards Sarah, looking at her partner in concern; unsure of what to do. “Are you alright?”, she asked quickly, trying to get a hold on the slime and brought her further away from the river.
“I feel funny,” Sarah said again, looking at Serene with a queasy stare. “They said it wasn’t dangerous to touch, so I should still be safe. Right?”
Serene raised an eyebrow, wondering why Sarah was like this if she didn’t drink it. “Oh, crap! You Absorbed it, didn’t you?!” Sarah let out a small nod, blinking slowly. Serene then let out a worried sigh, bringing Sarah to dry ground. Serene stood there for a moment before getting an idea, using psychic to lift Sarah up. As long as she doesn’t use psychic offensively then it won’t backfire hopefully.
The Ralts brought the slime back towards the carriages that they were supposed to go to once they collected buckets of tainted water but looks like a change of plans, Serene was bringing a poisoned Goomy instead. “Alright, Sarah. I’m going to talk with them and figure out a way to make you feel better,” Serene assured Sarah, putting her down on a rock before Serene ran off to the carriages.
There was a Buizal nearby, lifting a bucket and placing it in one of the carriages before a small Ralts approached her. “Excuse me, miss. Do you know anything about treatments of the sickness?” Serene asked quickly, looking up at the Buizal.
The Buizal, Aveline, looked down at the Ralts with a paw on her chin. “Hm, I don’t think there is a cure but there is a way to purify the wat-”, she was interrupted as Serene immediately ran off in a hurry with an idea in mind. The Buizal shrugging as she watched the Ralts disappear, “Alright then.”
After a long while and a couple of explanations, Serene brought a bucket of water and a small potion back to Sarah. “Sarah, are you still alright?” Serene called out, looking around to where she left the slime at.
“I feel funny,” Sarah said again, spinning around to face Serene, floating in the tainted water. “I know I feel better whenever it’s raining,” she said, making her way to the edge of the barrel. “Maybe I could do that.”
Serene helped bring Sarah towards the bucket and poured the purifying potion into the water, hoping that it might help cleanse Sarah’s condition. “Hopefully it was worth a shot.”
“Okay then,” Sarah said, beginning to dance while in the barrel of tainted water. Soon enough it started raining - well ‘rain’ wouldn’t really describe it, it was more a light drizzle, if anything. “Aw, it’s not raining…” Regardless, the small droplets of water landed onto Sarah, getting into her slimy body, while the tainted water started getting pushed out, spilling over the edge of the barrel. “I’m feeling better,” Sarah said, wiggling over to the edge of the barrel, falling off from a small splash along with some of the tainted water.
Serene let out a sigh of relief, slumping down to the ground as she flicked some sweat from her forehead. “Just sit there until you feel better,” Serene said, chuckling a little as she looked down at her messy white dress. “Looks like I’ll do the purifying work myself~”
“Okay then,” Sarah said, her voice slowly getting louder as she sat there, the light drizzle getting rid of the gunk.
Once Serene confirmed that her idea works, she stood up and began walking back to where she left her work. “Just don’t touch the water, Sarah. Let me do this task,” Serene called out, waving towards the Goomy as Serene looked around for another bucket to grab the water.
Sarah nodded with her whole body, her mood lifting as the drizzle continued.
----------------------
Along the way, Serene came by another Ralts like her, although it was a shiny. “Hey there~!” Serene waved towards the shiny Ralts, trying to get her attention as Serene approached her.
“Huh?” The Shiny Ralts, Nodoka, turned to Serene. “Oh, hello…” She wasn’t really good with conversing with others and thus, avoided company.
“Are you also purifying the water too? Well, it’s obvious~”, Serene chuckled, smiling warmly towards the Shiny who was trying to avoid looking at Serene.
“Yea, it’s sad so I thought… I should help clean the river,” Nodoka said, looking over at some buckets nearby.
“Well, let me help you. Name’s Serene~”, Serene hummed, walking over and grabbing a bucket. “What’s yours~?”
Nodoka was about to refuse but Serene was already helping her anyways. “You don’t nee… nevermind. Uhh, mine is Nodaka.” She said timidly, grabbing another bucket and followed Serene.
“That’s a nice name~”, Serene commented, the two heading back to the carriage. Eventually, Nodaka decided to take a rest and split up from Serene, the shiny running off somewhere while Serene continued back to the river. It was then she heard some muttering and noticed a furry tail behind a rock, curiously she stopped dragging the bucket and began approaching the tail.
She looked behind the rock and saw a shiny Zangoose scratching his head as he looked up at the sky. The Zangoose, noticing someone behind him and quickly turned around with his claws out as if he was expecting to see an enemy but saw a small Ralts instead.
“Oh… it’s just a kid, sorry about that.” The Zangoose gave a small sigh, adjusting the belt on his belly as he turned back to the sky. “Say, do you know why is it drizzling?” He mumbled to himself while Serene just looked at him curiously.
“Oh, the drizzle? It’s because of my partner, Sarah, she accidentally absorbed some of the tainted water but clean water from the drizzle it bringing her right as rain~”, Serene giggled, looking up at the Zangoose.
“Oh, really? Uhh, kid. Is your partner okay? I should go and check up on her,” Zangoose said, giving a small grin as he knelt down to face Serene. “The name’s Oxnard.”
“Oh, she’s a Goomy sitting in a bucket over there by the carriages,” Serene pointed out towards the group of carriages where she left Sarah. “And the name’s Serene.”
“Pleasure.” The Zangoose grinned, turning towards where Serene pointed out and placed his claws on his hips.
“Well, I need to finish up on my task or no rewards for me~”, Serene said in a sing-along voice as she hurried off back to her bucket, dragging it along with her with happy hum.

Sarah was starting to squiggle about excitedly, all better now. She started rushing along, eager to move all about once more! It was then she felt something get picked up, spinning around rapidly in a failed attempt to see what was inside of her. Eventually she stopped, trying her hardest to flatten herself. Backing up, she could see that what she picked up was a pair of glasses.
She looked around to see a Minum stumbling around on the ground, looking for something. Sarah went up to him, grinning widely. “Hi, I’m Sarah!” She yelled out. The Minum jumped back in fright, toppling onto his back. “Who’re you?!”
He quickly composed himself, his previous fright now gone entirely. “Stefan. Have you seen any glasses?” He asked, back to scrounging the ground for them. “I can’t see without them…”
“I can get them!” Sarah yelled out, rolling back into the glasses on the floor, before returning to Stefan. “They’re inside me!”
“...What?” Stefan asked, looking to Sarah with a look of disgust. “This is a public location, don’t talk of such things.”
“But they are inside me, you’ll have to grab them from my tummy!” Sarah yelled out, leaning closer.
Stefan was silent, squinting at Sarah. “...What species are you?”
“Goomy!” Sarah answered excitedly.
“That explains it,” Stefan sighed, leaning in to grab the glasses, scrunching up his nose a little from having his hand in such a slimy Pokemon. “Augh, well I better catch up with my sister,” Stefan said, wiping the slime off of his arm and his glasses, before putting them on. “The Don won’t negotiate with himself, afterall.”
Sarah watched the Minum walk off, thinking about someone negotiating with themself. “I don’t think I should go!” Sarah yelled out, staring blankly. Stefan turned around, about to speak before Sarah interrupted him. “But if I went along, I could see this The don negotiating with himself! I might even help!”
Stefan stared at the Goomy in confusion, raising a brow. “Oh, I’d like to see that! Let’s go!” Then she started zooming after Stefan, grinning widely. The two were completely unaware of the Zangoose and Seviper that followed behind. “Keep an eye on that Goomy while I tell the boss about this rain-maker,” Oxnard instructed, backing up into the shadows. The Seviper nodded, hissing gently as she began slithering after them, hidden in the shadows.
---
Serene had finished her personal quota with the collection of water and slumped down against the wheel of a carriage, panting lightly as she stared blankly at her feet, the little Ralts tired from the work. Then she looked around, wondering where did that joyful mass of slime run off to. Serene got back up again, walking over to one particular carriage where members could keep their belongings; hopping up to look for her personal stuff.
Serene rummaged through and found it, a handmade bow. The Ralts hung around her shoulder and hopped out, looking around for her partner. “Sarah? Where are you?”
Soon, the Ralts couldn’t find the Goomy, looking behind rocks, checking the carriages. Serene was beginning to feel anxious, calling her partner’s name multiple times as she scanned the area. “Sarah! Sarah, where are you?!” she yelled out, she knew she shouldn’t have left the Goomy alone.

Meanwhile, the notorious Ludicolo of crime in Ywaru was currently engaged in negotiations with some diplomats from the outsiders that recently enter Ywaru about the situation of the poisoned water. At some point, he held off further meetings for awhile to take a break from all the discussion.
Once he was alone, he let out a small sigh of relief as he rubbed his beak, his free hand grabbing out towards a glass of pure water from the water fountain next to him, taking a sip. The Ludicolo, Kapon, was beginning to be bored and wondered about what the state of affairs currently are going on.
Oxnard came in, looking a little exhausted from running all the way here. “Boss, I have some news!”
“Hm? What is it?”, Kapon asked, looking at one of his finest assassins as he took another sip from his drink.
“We found one of the outsiders has the ability to make rain in this dry environment. If this is the case, there might be more mons who can do the same.” Oxnard reported, holding his paws behind his back.
“What? We’re the only ones that possess pure water, if these outsiders decide to give out free water then we’re ruined!”, Kapon stood up immediately, taking a deep breath as he scratched his head. “Are there any other confirmed rain makers?”
“Only one so far, a Goomy named Sarah.”, Oxnard shook his head.
“Well then, you know what to do.”, Kapon ordered, smiling wide as his assassin had the same idea.
“Very well, boss.” Oxnard nodded, grinning as he turned around to leave.
“I don’t know what to do!” Sarah’s voice yelled out, said Goomy standing right at the door. There was a small crowd behind her, all focused on the Goomy who just came in and got slime everywhere.
Oxnard backed up from the Goomy, eye widening as he turned to Kapon, gesturing towards the Goomy that she was the ‘rain-maker’.
“Uhh, who are you?”, Kapon said quickly, putting on a small smile as he stared at her.
“Hi, I’m Sarah!” She yelled out, crawling up closer. “Who’re you?!”
“I am Don Kapon, how did you get here?”, he replied, cringing a little from her loud voice as he gestured towards Oxnard, the Zangoose slowly getting closer to the Goomy.
“You must be that The Don! I heard you were negotiating with yourself!” She said aloud, looking up to the imposing Ludicolo without a single worry.
“He’s not doing that,” Stefan sighed, shaking his head slowly. “This little slimeball followed me here.”
“Why don’t you follow my associate, he’ll lead you out,” Kapon signaled the Zangoose, Oxnard approaching the two and letting out a warm smile.
“Please follow me~”, Oxnard requested, gesturing for them to follow.
“Can I watch then?!” Sarah asked loudly, looking over to the crowd behind her.
Stefan shook his head. “This is for Guild Members and helpers only.”
Sarah stared at him blankly, before smiling wide. “Yay! I’m a helper!” Everyone else let out a long sigh.
“I can take care of her.”, Oxnard told Stefan before turning to the Goomy. “You want to help? Well, helpers need to help bring some drinks during the negotiation.”
“Sure thing!” Sarah yelled out, grinning widely. “...What sort of drinks?!”
“Something refreshing like water,” Oxnard chuckled, gesturing for her to follow again as he stepped out of the room. “Follow me to the kitchen.”
“Ooh, I can do water!” Immediately Sarah started dancing, oblivious grin on her face as she summoned rain again… and it began raining inside, thicker than before, the water fountain looking a little less impressive now. “Yay, it’s raining properly!” Everyone let out a groan of frustration as they were getting soaked.
Oxnard sighed, sneaking past once Sarah wasn’t looking, grumbling at his fur getting wet from the rain.
---
Serene was in a nearby street, running past some pokemon as she continued on her search for Sarah before she slumped down against a wall, catching her breath as she began tearing up a little; due to her failure in searching for her friend.
The Ralts entered an alleyway away from sight, wiping her tears away. It was then a Goomy was sliding by, a small ‘dress’ around it and a rock hanging from its ear.
Serene approached the Goomy, her mood lifting for just a moment, until she noticed this Goomy was wearing some sort of dress. Sarah never wore anything. She let out a deep sigh, looking down to the ground. The Ralts then cleared her throat, looking ahead as she approached the Goomy, wiping her tears away and faking a smile. “Hey there, can I ask whether you saw another Goomy around here named Sarah? Very loud and noisy? Ring any bells?” Serene chuckled sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head.
“Nevah heard of Sawah,” the Goomy said, turning around to face the Ralts. “And I didn’t know there was another Goomy here,” she said, looking up to her. “Oh! My name’s Anise!”
“My name is Serene~” the Ralts grinned before letting out a sigh, rubbing her head. “Well, it was nice to meet you anyways and thanks.”
“Welcome!” Anise called out, before turning around and waddling away.
“Hey, do you know where this place is?” Serene asked, catching up to the Goomy as she adjusted the bow behind her back. “I came running here in a hurry so I didn’t see any signs nearby.”
“Well Vewonique knows,” Anise said. “But she said she was doing something about… new-go-tee-ate?”
“Newgoteaate? Do you mean… negotiate?” Serene gave a small chuckle, looking down at the Goomy. “Oh so you’re part of the other guild helpers that came here!”
“Yeah, I’m part of the Distant Howizons!” Anise called out cheerfully, grinning. “Are you one of those teams too?”
“Yeap, it’s called Team Rainfall~” Serene giggled, smiling wide too. “Although my partner is nowhere to be seen right now…”
“She could be doing one of those jobs,” Anise said, looking up to Serene. “That’s why we’re here, I think.”
“Hm… I guess… it wouldn’t hurt to check and see if Sarah is there.” The Ralts nodded, thinking about the possibility. “Thanks for the idea, Anise~”
“No problem,” Anise said. “Glad I could help!” She continued waddling off again, waving one of her...Ear antennae things at Serene.
Serene waved back with a warm smile before remembering something. “Oh yea, do you know where the Guild members are staying?” She raised her voice in hopes that Anise would hear, only to see that she was already gone.
The Ralts gave an audible sigh, shaking her head as she stared up into the blue sky. It seems she has to run around and try to find Sarah on her own again.
---
“Why did you bring this Goomy along, again?” a Plusle whispered into the ear of Stefan, a hand on her forehead as Sarah kept rambling on.
“I didn’t bring her, she followed me, Stella,” Stefan replied, wiping the water off his glasses as the rain finally died down.
“Ooh you have a fountain!” Sarah yelled out, rushing across near the back of Don Kapon’s office. “Lookit all the water!”
Don let out an irritated sigh as he dragged the Goomy away from the fountain. “It’s for viewing only,” he said through gritted teeth.
“I’ll look at it real good!” Sarah yelled out, rushing up close to the water fountain, staring at it obsessively.
---
Serene was nearby Don’s home, out of breath, leaning her back against a nearby fence, panting heavily as she stared blankly at her feet. She ran around the entire city, running into teams and other mission locations but unable to find her crazy friend, on the brink of giving up if she couldn’t find Sarah anytime soon.
It was then a faint hissing sound rang out, coming from the shadows near the alleyways.
Serene turned her head, panting lightly and wiping the sweat from her forehead. It was then something moved, just out of the corner of her eye! The hissing rang out again, a little louder than it was before, and it was coming from whatever moved…!
Instinctively, the Ralts removed the bow from her shoulder, pulling it’s string back as a pink glowing arrow materialize against it. “Hello!? Who is that?” Serene pointed the small arrow down on the ground to avoid any accidents as she looked around her surroundings. “I don’t want any trouble, I’m just looking for my friend.”
Another hiss struck out, before something leaped out from the shadows! Serene only knew it was a Seviper because something was holding it back. Oxnard dragged the Seviper back, shaking his head slowly. “Bermuda, I told you not to attack anyone,” he said, shaking his head slowly. “Sorry about that miss,” he sighed, turning to face Serene. “But good news, I found your friend! She’s in the Don’s office, making a complete fool of herself during negotiations.”
Serene was both relieved and worried at the same time, Sarah in negotiations is the worst possible job. “Oh jeez… Thank you so much for looking out for my partner.” Serene nodded, rubbing her head as the psychic arrow dissipated. “Can you lead me to her?”
Oxnard nodded, pointing ahead before he began walking, a bit too quickly for Serene to keep up. He leaned in close to Bermuda, his friendly tone gone as he whispered “The Goomy’s a threat...” He then stopped, turning back to Serene. “Well? She’s not too far!”
“Good, I’m so tired from trying to find that little Goomy~” Serene chuckled, still panting lightly as she followed the two mons. “Hopefully she doesn’t make a fool of herself.”
---
It was unmistakable where the negotiations were happening, there was a trail of water leading straight from the negotiation room out into the town square. And the cause of it was Sarah, her cheerful behaviour causing chaos, with everyone else soaked, miserable, and all too willing to just kick her out. Even the fountain had gone from a magnificent display of water to a pathetic weak squirt.
Serene watched the sad display of the fountain with her eyes widening. “Did… Sarah do all of this?” she asked Oxnard before running off to find Sarah.
“Serene!” Sarah yelled out loudly, jumping out of the fountain and dashing straight to Serene, trying to climb up her leg!
“Sarah! Stop clinging onto my leg~” Serene giggled, grabbing onto the slime and hugged Sarah in relied. “I thought you got lost somewhere and I couldn’t find you.”
Sarah nuzzled straight into the hug, getting slime all over Serene. “I was here, silly! With all these friendly ‘mon!” She turned to the crowd, who all seem overjoyed that she’s finally leaving, especially Don Kapon.
Serene was already used to Sarah getting slime all over her, putting Sarah down before chuckling nervously and bringing her away from the crowd. “Sarah, what did you do the fountain?”
“Nothing!” She yelled out, grinning widely. “It just shrunk!”
“Actually,” a shiny Espurr called out, getting closer. “Her frequent Rain Dances were drawing water from the fountain, soaking us and wasting perfectly good drinking water.”
“Oh, you wanted to drink it?!” Sarah yelled out, her mouth going wide. “Of course! This place is a cave!”
“Desert.”
“And caves have no water, right?!”
“That has nothing to do with them being caves.”
“Let’s dance so that we get drinking water!” Sarah yelled out loudly, hopping out of Serene’s grasp, headed straight outside.
Don Kapon glanced over to Bermuda, who nodded before she silently slithered away, out of sight.
“Sarah stop it! What did I tell you about dancing to make rain come, you are wasting all these nice mons’ water,” Serene explained, quickly grabbing the slime in her arms and tried putting on a stern expression. “Please don’t make it hard on me to clean up after you, okay?”
Sarah looked up to Serene, her grin fading away. “Aw… Okay…” She turned around, starting to just blindly go in one direction. Serene was about to speak, before she could hear a hissing noise once again. A familiar one...
“Again? What’s that…” Serene looked around, trying to search for the Seviper, expecting it to be behind her.
Bermuda’s hiss rang a little louder, the snake a little ahead of Serene, her face just barely out of the shadows. She was completely focused on Sarah, waiting for her to pass by a lamp post.
Serene noticed the Seviper just barely, waiting and focusing on Sarah, the Ralts pulling out her bow as another pink arrow materialized as she ran towards the Goomy. “Sarah, watch out!”
It was then Bermuda struck, fully expecting to get Sarah as she was perfectly timed! She clenched her jaw, getting a good taste of… hot dirt. She quickly lifted her head off the ground, looking back to see that Sarah crashed right into the lamp post, not bothering to move around it.
The Ralts realizing that Bermuda was a threat to her friend, she shot an arrow high into the sky, repeating this process three times before running towards Sarah. “Are you alright?!” she asked Sarah in concern, looking over at the sprawled out Seviper.
“I can’t make rain…” Sarah huffed, not moving from where she was.
“What? Sarah listen to me,” Serene shook the slime, not receiving any response from her. “Uhh, listen to me… Bubbles! Yes, please make your bubbles!” She begged in a hurry, nudging the slime and she turned back to the Seviper.
“Yay!” Sarah yelled out, spinning rapidly as she began spitting out bubbles in any direction, an oblivious grin on her face.
“Yes, yes… Uhhh, why don’t you use your bubbles on the Seviper over there, she’s thirsty,” Serene said quickly, pointing towards Bermuda.
Bermuda grabbed onto her tail, rolling forward towards Serene and Sarah at break-neck speeds, running over both of them like a bulldozer! She broke form after hitting Sarah, hissing as her bubbles popped against her slithery body.
Serene struggled to get back up, feeling like she just got flattened… The Ralts was never really good at taking any hits as she groaned loudly, looking at the sky for a moment before looking back at Bermuda. “Hey! Leave my friend alone,” Serene called out, slowly bringing herself back up.
Bermuda let out a hiss, her tail shaking as she slithered closer. Then she leapt out, flinging her sharp, poisonous tail at Serene!
Then Serene noticed a bright dot in the sky, coming right down on their direction. “I said, leave my friend alone!” Serene yelled out, her future sight taking effect, one of the arrows she shot earlier flying right towards the Seviper.
She let out a loud hiss at the arrow struck her, barely missing with her Poison Tail, fumbling against the ground next to Sarah.
Sarah looked down to Bermuda, grinning. “Bubbles!” She yelled out cheerfully, blasting bubbles directly at Bermuda’s face.
Then Serene got onto her feet, lifting both her small hands up as a pink aura surrounded her, the Ralts sensing another arrow returning from the sky. This time the arrow impaled itself on the Seviper’s long body, Serene took the opportunity to prepare her psychic.
Boom!
Serene got sent flying back, sliding across the ground as her psychic blasted out towards Bermuda.
Bermuda flicked her head up just in time to see the blast of psychic before it blasted her back, knocking her back against a wall. She wriggled her body, before dropping, unconscious.
“Is she sleeping?!” Sarah asked out loudly, rushing up towards Bermuda, looking down to her curiously. She didn’t notice Oxnard approaching behind her at all, grinning widely. “Sleep well, snake!”
Serene was groaning in her place, bringing her small body up as she looked over at Bermuda, sighing in relief as she turn towards Sarah and Oxnard nearby. “Sarah! Oxnard! Get away from the Seviper!” Serene called out towards the two mons, sensing her final psychic arrow flying back down and she didn’t want anyone to get in it’s way.
“But she’s sleeping!” Sarah called out, getting really close to the Seviper. Serene had to look away as the arrow trailed down to hit- “Ow, my back!” Oxnard yelled out, tumbling over onto the dirt.
Serene stared at the Zangoose, eyes widening - her Future Sight shouldn’t hit him… unless… “Sarah, get away from Oxnard!”
Sarah looked behind herself, seeing the Zangoose on the ground. “Hi I’m Sarah!” She yelled out cheerfully. “Who’re you?!”
“Sarah, get away from him!” Serene warned, quickly getting up onto her feet and running towards Sarah as she pulled out her bow again, the Zangoose getting onto his knees. Oxnard gave a small growl, leaping towards Sarah with his claws all out, getting closer for Close Combat.
Sarah got slashed by his claws, the marks quickly fading away as her slimy form shifted back to normal. “That hurt!” She yelled out, turning to face Oxnard again.
“Sarah! Use your Acid Armor, make yourself more slippery!” Serene commanded the Goomy, preparing another psychic arrow in her hands. Oxnard leaped again with his claws out, determined to silence Sarah.
“Okay!” Sarah yelled out, immediately beginning to melt right then and there. “Y-a-a-a-a-a-y!” She gargled out loudly.
Oxnard slashed at her again, finding his claw going in deeper before managing to cut into something. “Ew…”
“Now use absorb, hug him!” Serene giggled briefly at Oxnard’s reaction as she shot one arrow into the air, looking back down at the two.
Sarah hopped onto him, sucking up some of Oxnard’s fur, skin, and some blood.
He screamed out in pain, flicking Sarah off in a wild panic, looking at the gash on his leg. “That fucking hurt you stupid ball of sludge!”
“Good job, Sarah! Now he is a little thirsty, use bubbles~!” Serene yelled, putting her hands up again to prepare another psychic.
Oxnard got back up, swinging his claws right at Sarah.
“I can’t do that,” Sarah mumbled, before rolling onto her head. She was knocked out, her slime sinking into the ground a little.
Serene gasped at the sight of Sarah sinking a little, making the Ralts to give a sharp glare at Oxnard which she hardly does, the pink aura around her getting brighter while an arrow impaled itself in the Zangoose’s leg to slow him down.
Oxnard yelled out again, trudging straight for the Ralts in frustration and anger. “You’re going to regret hurting Sarah!” Serene wanrned, her arms shaking from the strain of directing her psychic twice without rest, waiting right for him to come closer to shoot him point-blank.
Oxnard then leapt at Serene, his claws glowing dark as he prepared a Night Slash. Serene’s psychic exploded in between the two, separating the two away from each other as Oxnard received the bulk of the damage while Serene crashed into a cart nearby, grunting in pain.
Oxnard slowly got back up to his feet, spitting out some blood. He glanced over to Don Kapon’s office, grumbling as he grabbed Bermuda, and began running off. Serene winced, her sore body attempting to sit up as she quickly dragged herself towards Sarah’s body. “Sarah? Are… hah… you alright?” she panted, holding out her bruised hands and performing heal pulse, a pink light pulsing against the Goomy’s body.
Sarah opened her eyes up, letting out a deep yawn after Serene blasted a healing pulse at her. “Mornin’!” She yelled out, rushing forward into a wall. “Hey, this isn’t home! Where are we?!”
Serene chuckled weakly, smiling wide as she laid down on the ground to catch her breath, “Glad you’re still alright...”
“But where are we?!” Sarah yelled out, bouncing around the streets uncontrollably.
Serene sat up with loud groan, looking at her bruised arms and small gashes around her body as she brushed her messy hair aside. “Sarah… Come help me.” she called out, looking over at the Goomy bouncing about and making the Ralts grin.
“Sure thing!” Sarah yelled out, rolling over to Serene, getting on top of her. “Help with what?!” She yelled again, right in Serene’s face.
“Ow, ow! Sarah it hurts, get off me,” Serene winced, feeling the slime pressed against her sore body. “Help me get up, don’t sit on me.”
Sarah rolled off of Serene, looking at her. “How do I get you up?!”
“Just… can you push me up or make your body more solid to help me up?” Serene asked, her legs wobbling a little as she got onto her feet. Sarah got behind Serene, blindly charging into her in an attempt to get Serene up on her feet.
Serene exclaimed in pain, standing straight as she held her arms to her side once she hung her bow across her body. “Thanks.” She huffed, before turning to Sarah with a smile and giggled. “Let’s go back and rest~”

That was close, I was worried for Sarah there, though it makes sense that the ones trying to keep a water monopoly would go after someone who could literally make it rain, child or not.
