Rex Grimm was an archeologist who had the privilage to go into space on a space shuttle with professor Patric Richards and his future wife, Brenda Storm, and future brother-in-law Ronnie Storm. While they were mid-flight, they encountered the ancient Orb of Ra, which radiated with cosmic energy, transforming them into freaks of nature. Rex was transformed into a living golem of elements, and was ever since then known as Earth’s hero "Morph-Thing."

Both characters belong to Marvel and DC respectively.
