Captain Lantern's Origins by MoonKnightFan101:
Steve Jordan was a young man who tried drafting for the US army but was rejected because of his weak physique. After many attempts at joining, they gave him a chance by turning him into a super-soldier by putting him through brutal trials no man of his stature could complete. It took Steve several months but his willpower pushed him through. On his final trial day, before professor Abram Ursine could pass the power-ring, he was shot by a Nazi spy, revealing to be an alien in disguise named Abin Sur. Steve rushed in, battle-ready and with great physique, fought off the Nazi, while pushing through the several bulletholes in his chest. Steve's willpower saved him again as the power-ring detected his determination, and bonded to him, turning Steve into a super-soldier with the ability to manifest any weapon he imagines (Though he usually sticks with a replica of his shield he used in training). Using this oppurtunity Steve aprehanded the spy and became a hero. Later down the line Steve would fight the Nazi's own super-soldier, Red Rage, who's powered by the red ring of rage and hatred.
Both characters belong to Marvel and DC respectively.
