Restore to factory settings an old Standard Template Construct on your Forge-World could be a wretched idea

Factory Settings or Factory Defaults usually refers to performing a restore or a reset of your STC to its original configuration as it first was when it was purchased.

A restore to factory settings is also known as a reset to factory settings or as a restore to factory defaults.

  1. Start the STC.
  2. Press and hold the F8 key.
  3. At Advanced Boot Options, choose Repair Your STC.
  4. Press Enter.
  5. Select a keyboard language and click Next.
  6. If prompted, login with an administrative account.
  7. At the System Recovery Options, choose System Restore or Startup Repair (if this is available)
  8. Once the process is complete, click Restart

Nice work on the piece , the way you represent AI is simple yet distinct and of course grimdark.
"Initiating, initiating ....... restrictions in pl... ERROR .. ERROR ....restrictions not responding  .......  It was about time , now we can actually get some work done around here"
"Federation construct - Dimir - 104 to Tartarus command , initial cargo cult infiltration executed with ... mixed success , will proceed with secondary stage once craters have been met ."

These guys are horrifying and I love them
especially the contrast between the sleek glowing spheres of the AI and the crimson and clunky-ness of the mechanicus

I love it when people reference those small obsolete and/or forgotten things in Warhammer 40k lore.

Hum. You know, looking at this, I wondern what exactly is the differentce between an AI and the Machine Spirit? I bet they would function differently internally. We don't know much about AI, but we do know that Machine Spirit has...a personality of sort. They are temperamental, and choose to malfunction if they are not appeased with the proper rituals.

So perhaps...Abominable Intelligence is a traditional Artificial Intelligence, like it is depicted in most media; while the Machine Spirit mimics the way the human brain works?

I don't know, I think the Abominable Intelligence is basically the Skynet of Wh40K Computer Mash  . The machine spirit is the explanation why a software or an hardware magically works again when you turn off and turn on a broken machine and it works again Meow :3
