I haven't updated this in forever, so while changing my journal skin I should bother myself to say some things. So this entry will finished very soon. XD

I wish to start fresh with this journal entry, since I haven't done anything with any of it since sophomore year of college, and I'm now in my senior year. I wish it were my last. Thanks to skipping an important class when I should have taken it and not fighting to get into following classes lead me to get to enjoy another semester or entire year of school extra. If that's not enjoyable enough, this semester is the worst months of my school life to date, thanks to taking 4 studio classes, a core class, and putting time and effort into the school's student-produced magazine, Tempo. I want to just quit right now. In other, more positive subje

Ello ello everyone. So I've been done with sophomore year for a couple weeks, and it feels good to've survived it. I know junior year will provide me with some challenges, but I should be able to handle it since I'll only have one job throughout it. Two jobs during sophomore year was murder on me, and I'd like to never deal with as much stress as I'd gone through during it. I have so much artwork from my classes that need to be on here, but not much effort within me to get it all digitized and submitted. I'll eventually deal with that. Meanwhile, I'm struggling with what to work on during this summer. I wanted to start a project on redesign

I tried finding your piece to refresh my memory. If I was negative, I apologize. Although I didn't expect my piece to win, I was a bit bitter over some of the exclusions that, in my opinion, should have been semi-finalists before most that were chosen. But I did the wrong thing by taking it out on the latter. And it's not even that I thought they were bad pieces so much as ill-fitting in terms of the subject matter and style of the filmmaker (though we were dealing with a comic book when it comes down to it, and approaching the project from a cinematic perspective turned out to be a fault of mine). Once again, I'm sorry if I projected any of that onto you.

Thanks for reaching out.
...There were some great pieces that didn't make it through, as is almost always the case. It was a somewhat flawed contest in terms of what direction the actual style after the cover was going to look like, would the characters look exactly like the actors from the movie, etc., but I think dA's gotten a bit better since then at defining these kinds of things in newer contests, but there will always be those few things that seem borderline acceptable or not. Very frustrating when one works so hard on a piece! I haven't really entered any contests in a couple years because of finishing college (Dec 2012 grad), but I've tried to peek at new ones that have come through. Some exciting ones, too!...

...I accept all input on my work, so definitely no hard feelings about it. After dozens of critiques in art studio and graphic design courses, you learn to either love or hate all feedback... :XD:

...I hope you may have a chance to look at some of my work sometime. My older work is a bit random, but I hope to upload more recent work soon, since it's been over a year now since graduating. Just been having too much fun doing everything else!...
I know what you mean dude (sort of). For me, I'm a bit behind on my art in general, as I've been writing a novel the past... three years now. I began a screenplay after graduating college in 2010 which took a year, but then I thought "okay, now what?" and decided to adapt it into a novel (movie studios won't give anything original a chance unless it was a novel first and has a built-in fanbase, so that's the logic behind this). Anyway, I'm still cranking on that and it's going well (at the moment). The problem is, I'm spending all my time writing rather than drawing, and I've barely uploaded anything the past two years.

The one thing I look forward to is when I'm done with the first draft -- then while I tweak and edit things on the side, I'll enter the illustration phase and hopefully produce a ton of artwork to upload as a byproduct. I so wish I could be there already...

I'll check more of your work out. I went through your gallery the other day and saw some good stuff. You have a great diversity from what I see, and I look forward to recent works.

nice gallery here dude!!! :)
Thanks for the watch, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Thanks for the Watch, and I didn't realize you were in Conway, I used to live there.
