Hello friends!

We congratulate you on the Summer coming! It’s a holiday season, and that’s why we haven’t too much news for you this time:

:new:The latest news

   :bulletred: Amazing Manipulation Award 2

I remind this is a new project supported by the groups World-of-Art-Kingdom, Art-Revival, Stewed-Tomatoes, The-Imaginarium and DA-LOVERS. The AMA (Amazing Manipulation Award) is an award given to photo-manipulation artists for their arts, dedication, imagination, innovation, ideas, creativity, etc., which is remarkable for the community of manipulation, and deserves an award. A winner will be featured in all supported groups and will receive a prize. Btw, you can donate for this award through an account AMApoints. Each month we will select a winner in some category. This month category is ENCHANTING WAY OF USING LIGHT, proposed by Wesley-Souza and hosted by his group The-Imaginarium.  Please read more here:

    :bulletred: Artists interview

Our CV Marta Gejda gave an interview to Wesley-Souza and the group The-Imaginarium. Are you interested what made her become a digital artist? And what has been the most challenging project she has worked on? Then read Marta’s interview here:
Special Feature and Interview - Gejda:iconthe-imaginarium:
Gejda is the talented artist chosen this month, will receive a special feature, a short interview and will be displayed on the home page of the group.

1. First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to provide The-Imaginarium  with this interview. Please tell us more about your Art and what made you become an Digital Artist ?
I’ve been involved in doing something artistic as long as I can remember – I wrote stories, played flute, and drew. I found DA and photomanipulations when I was around 12-13, and I was immediately excited by the possibilities that photomanipulation offers as an art medium – I could finally visualise scenes and stories from head.

2. Do you have particular themes that you stick to or do you work according to inspiration?

I usua

An amazing artist thegirlcansmile was interviewed by Anna shadowforth in her group EerieMirage. How thegirlcansmile create her unique emotional works, what is more important for her art - technique or it’s message - you will know this from here:
  Interview with :iconthegirlcansmile:Interview with :iconthegirlcansmile:
Welcome to  a new interview! This time it's :iconthegirlcansmile:! I'm very happy she make this tutorial with me because she is a wonderful artist and a very supportive person. I do not think a lot of our community know her so I want to let her light shine a bit and if you know her work, you know what I mean with "shine" ;)
1. You really developed an own style and I would love to hear how you work!
Many of my works start out with a sketch since i get a lot of inspiration being outside. I really like scanning in a traditional sketch or even painting and then build on it digitally. Sometimes I will do the other way around as well. I love the feel of mixing medias, it allows for more freedom and creative expression.
2. I cannot help myself but many of your works make me sad. I really get emotional as they are very intense and often have a sad theme. Is art a way to express your feelings?
I would absolutely say art

:spotlight-left: Monthly  spotlight :spotlight-right:

This spotlight is dedicated to awesome French artist AlexandraVBach! She’s successful and famous not only on DA, she create game art, CD and book covers, for exampe she worked for bands like Kamelot and Stream of Passion . Also she made some cards for Legend of Cryptis and  for Urban Fantasy Authors like Anne Bishop. Moreover she is a very active and old member of DeviantART and her work was featured 12 times (!) as a Daily Deviation.
Alexandra’s art is a fantasy world of supernatural and magical creatures such as mermaids, dark faeries and so on. She’s inspired by legends, european folklore and myths. She’s an admirer of classic and preraphaelite painters and contemporary visual artists and filmmakers. She’s also listening to many metal bands and generally dark music (Depeche Mode, Opeth, and more).
Alexandra considers the concept a key to creating a really awesome artwork. “Even if the technique is not mastered, a great concept will always make the difference”, she says. And you can see this by plunging into the magical world of photomanipulation of Alexandra V Bach:

Deviant of the World #264: mshelleemshellee

I have no idea why it is that a lot of artists joining this group lately specialize in Photomanipulation. I would like to theorize that I somehow manipulated their hearts and made them join, but that is a very silly idea. Whatever the reason, here they are. Speaking of which, this artist has some really good "photmanips" as they are sometimes called and I could only show off three of them. There's more where this came from and I think you should check it out. I think people in the group DA-Lovers is slowly invading this one and I don't know how to feel about that. Which is why I make this artist the next Deviant of the World.
If you would like to be the next Deviant of the World, send a note to the founder saying you want to show you

I've recently started my own website with a blog attached to it where everything I do will kinda come together: from my photography to my advanced edits and photomanips to stock (blog posts with stock usually link here, BUT there is a little extra available each time) and of course tutorials.
I plan on coming back to doing video tutorials, too. I already got some new audio gear and hopefully that'll take care of my noise problem ^^; Won't take care of my time problem, but hey ;)
If you have something you'd like to see me ramble on about, feel free to suggest!

Everyone had a dinosaur phase in their childhood, right? :D  emote : Dino approves New Dino :dinosrawr:
If you missed that vital step of nerdy development, here's your chance to make up for it - or if you didn't, to revisit your childhood fantasies! This month's theme is Jurassic World, which means everything with dinos is going to be perfect. Do you want to recreate a scene form the movies? Prove that the old trilogy is better than the one currently releasing its second movie? Or maybe... create your very own dinosaur? As always, it's up to you!

Exclamation  Please state in the description clearly that your work is created for this challenge. Works without such disclaimer will be moved to the general June folder.

:bookdiva: Tutorials:

This month we present you:

This is just a basic guide to show you a few tools, to add some texture to forms in a quick and easy way.
How to use Clipping Mask
Clipping Mask is a great tool in general when using Photoshop, it can be used for a variety of different things in your process. Here I am going to show you one application of its use by applying a basic texture to an asset in the layer under it.
Start out by laying down your basic compositio
