NextGen: Young Royals

Iridescence "Eerie"
The rambunctious daughter of Princess Celestia and Queen Chrysalis. Heir to the sun. Silly and fun. While she very much enjoys all the perks and pleasures that come with being a princess, she finds life among the Canterlot Elite rather stuffy. Because of her sharp, retractable mandibles and ability to spit acid, she was given the rude nickname "Eerie" by her fellow school foals. She loves this nickname and insists on being called by it, to mother Chrysalis' exasperation. Despite her young age, she's already learning how to manipulate ponies to get what she wants. Enjoys annoying her cousin Artemis. Spoiled absolutely rotten by mommy Celestia, usually shirks the responsibilities bestowed on her by her other mother Chrysalis. Will later befriend Pandora.

Artemis
The quiet and humorless child of Princess Luna and an unknown hippogriff. Heir to the moon. Artemis has a mild temperament and prefers reading up in the lofts of the castle, rather than interacting with ponies. This is just as well, as most ponies are naturally wary of them. Although typically reserved, Artemis has quite a bit of pride, and will take vengeance on anypony who insults them. Iridescence loves to tease Artemis just to see the little doofus fluff up and make indignant chirpy sounds. Art is actually older than Eerie, and rather upset about being smaller. Artemis is friends with Skyla, and finds that her sense of responsibility and duty is a welcome break from Eerie's bullshit

Pandora
The youngest. Pandora is the draconequus daughter of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Discord, Lord of Chaos. Heir to...something, I'm sure. Will someday grow up to be a master trickster and mischief maker. Panny's current interests include nappies, snackies, being bottle-fed, experiencing massive, powerful surges of chaos magic that panic her mother, toddling about clumsily, mewing at things, and being held.

Skyla
Bossy yet sweet, Skyla is the daughter of Princess Cadence and Shining Armor. Heir to the Crystal Empire. Skyla already has a strong sense of responsibility to the Crystal ponies, and tries her best to be a good princess. She currently is totally enamored with her baby cousin Pandora, sometimes to the point that she starts to cry while holding her, kinda worrying her family. She just loves her so muuuuch, why doesn't anypony understand? Skyla looks up to her mother very much and desires to be an alicorn someday.

i had fun designing Eerie. She's like a little bug horse mashup of scarab beetles and Japanese kintsugi (repairing broken pottery with gold). Celestia still calls her 'Bugaboo'

i find it interesting that Skyla is the only "normal" pony here, but grows up to be the most neurotic and ill-adjusted, poor thing
