Sometimes all it takes is just a smudge of eye shadow, or a spritz of mane spray, or, ahem, in your case, something short of a miracle...But lucky for you, I happen to be a miracle-worker! Just come with me, darlin', and we'll get you lookin' prettier than a magnolia in may!"

Personality/Background:
Magnolia May is a delicate southern flower, the apple of her mothers' eyes. From the outside looking in, you could assume that Magnolia is a demure and elegant mare, the picture perfect southern belle. You'd be wrong, but we won't blame you. Magnolia projects an illusion of perfect lady-likeness, but this is all to hide a stubborn, crass, competitive, trash-talkin' country girl streak a mile wide. Takes after her Momma Jackie, Magnolia does, but she hides it not well at all fairly okay.

Magnolia was born on Sweet Apple Acres, but loathes dirt (or at least pretends to, there's a subconscious part of her that really wants to wrestle a hog). She idolizes her mother Rarity, and it was Rarity who noticed Magnolia's appreciation for beauty and encouraged her into cosmetology. Magnolia claims that she's not just a hairdresser, but a beauty artist, and loves nothing more than helping ponies look their best and glow with confidence. Applejack thinks Magnolia's work is kinda frou-frou and superfluous, but supports her little Maggie May all the same.

...The story of Magnolia's conception is...complicated. It involves some accidental spell-casting from Discord, Rarity being magically transformed into a stallion for a weekend, a flustered Applejack, and probably far too much hard cider for everypony involved.

Relationships:
    Magnolia enjoys a close friendship with Rosemary, Fluttershy's scatter-brained hippie of a daughter. Rosie encourages Magnolia to relax and enjoy the simple things in life, even if it means getting dirty once in a while. Magnolia is unusually patient with Rosie, and it is possible that the unicorn has something of a crush on Rosie, though she is in fierce denial about it hesitant to act on it.
   
    Oddly enough, Magnolia is also best friends with Bruce. She caught him on the street one day and roped him into a free make-over, and although Bruce hated it, he's found himself pretty fond of the unicorn, and they form a duo of sass and snark the likes of which Ponyville has never seen before. Bruce gets dragged into shopping with her often, but sometimes, just sometimes, he can nudge her into playing a game of hoofball with him. (and lose horribly of course, Mags does not fuck around when it comes to competition)

    Magnolia is on good terms with all of her family, and is mostly tolerant of the clumsy, annoying antics of her cousins Peachy Keen and Truffles (whom she is fiercely protective of, but don't tell them that). She has a friendly rivalry with her young cousin Prima Donna, and the two often square off to see who can look the most fabulous. Despite how intense their rivalry can get, May is Prima's go-to stylist and Prima often goes to her for advice and general girl talk.

Special:
-Magnolia speaks terrible French, but likes to think she's fluent anyway. She'll proudly butcher the language in front of you if asked "Parlez vous francais?"

-Applejack taught Magnolia how to play the banjo at an early age. It's a dreadful hillbilly skill that May has been trying to forget for years. To her dismay, she can still play the goddamn banjo, and quite well.

-Magnolia was born in a barn, to her great shame. It's tradition for Apple family mares to give birth at home, which is exactly what Applejack did, with Rarity fretting and shrieking the whole while

-May does have AJ's earth pony strength, but she seems to only be able to access it when she's rip-snortin' angry.
