Good luck with your goals this month! Just out of curiosity how did you get into tattooing? Is it through an apprenticeship or what? I never hear about how tattoo artists start so in my naive imagination, it's just like. boom. They tattoo now. haha
Thanks for asking! I want to do more traditional painting and look for another job.
I'm curious to see how will your 'sparkly effect' be done in traditional painting. Another job - changing the current one or having 2 of them?
Well in ye olden days people apprenticed and...swept the studio floor a lot. It's kind of a running joke. I did a course with theory in the beginning practice on fake skin later, and now i'm doing it to hoomins. Hope it'll pay off
Yeah! I've been doing a lot of experimentation and I'm loving it. At the very least, the crystal effect is easy to replicate. And I'm looking for another job altogether, hoping to move out of the area at some point too.
Ahh I see. I heard that they practice on fruit and leather before moving on to people. Good luck with your tattooing! That sounds super awesome.
I hope you are able to enjoy this month, walk a ton, improve your Japanese, and be as creative as you feel you are able to be! (but don't discount spending time in front of a screen, it can be therapeutic sometimes)
Mine are to find stability (in all senses) and have courage to actually post my artwork, putting it out there for people to see is daunting (or not see and ignore)
Also, just curious, what got you to first start asking about people's goal(s) each month?
Aww! Thank you April is my favorite month so I want to make the best of it. And I agree; while I want to cut down on my screen time I don't think it would be wise to cut down completely. Just have to find that healthy balance! I'm really proud of my progress so far. Good luck with your goals this month as well! I hope you find the confidence to post your artwork; I really understand how intimidating it can be.
To answer your question, I'm a very goal-oriented person. I set goals for the year, the month, the week, and make daily to-do lists to keep myself on track. It has really done wonders for my productivity. I want to inspire that in others and encourage them. Plus it's a nice way to check in with my followers every month and see what they're up to!
Wow, that is really sweet! I have not come across very many artists who care so much about their followers. The goals sound like a good idea - I'll try taking a page from your book. Hope you find that healthy balance, and thank you for the reply!
Well, let me see... - Regain my mood to continue drawing/writing my comics - Continue studying for the college - Planning something for my birthday (28th April), but I guess I'll discard this one: I'm not on the mood this year...
So far it is! It's a pretty big group, but since I'm just doing a small colored and cell shaded portrait for each, it's not nearly as hard as it could be. But the sheer number (40) and my lack of free time this week (And likely the next few) makes it a bit tiring. But hey, my choice to do it, and it's kinda fun to get their appearance down, so I'm sticking with it ^^
