Getting back in to painting This month passed by in a blur. I worked on a commission that I made a special exception for. I have too much going on so it was hard to find the time. But now that I am done with the artwork I can focus on my own personal projects. I kicked it off with some oil painting! I'm working on two 8x10" canvases, just to start off small and gradually work my way to larger surfaces. Here's a preview of where I am at. I haven't started the cat, but the bee flower is nearly complete. I had so much fun working on it. Resident Evil 4 I got the Resident Evil 4 remake from my library after 1.5 months on the waitlist. I could certainly afford it but I don't need more clutter and would prefer to try before I buy. So far it's okay, I do find it jarring how much of the game they completely changed. I had to stop halfway through the castle before giving the game back. The castle is completely different other than the general vibe, characters and bosses. I guess I was

In your opinion, what is the hardest thing about being an artist right now? I'll start: It's more difficult than ever to get noticed as an artist; attention is the most valuable commodity right now. There is way too much happening on the internet right now, and it takes a lot of effort to stand out from all the noise. It drives many people to dishonesty and unethical means of gaining attention and profit. One thing that particularly bothers me is the word "content" in relation to art and all things creative being posted online - the word "content" itself feels so... degrading. Content is something you scroll past for a split second before moving on to the next dopamine hit. Our art is not content. It is something we worked hard on and deserves meaningful attention and appreciation. With more dishonest business ventures like AI and NFT on the rise, I can only hope that we artists will band together and return to more genuine sources of connection, especially in-person. Try to
