Stronger than twenty horses (commission)Rosita noticed the thick muscles under Susanna’s skin. Susanna had always been strong, being able to pull large amounts of weight. But she seemed to have grown lately. Rosita hadn’t seen those big, bulging muscles before. Of course, there had been other things on her mind in the past weeks.
Rosita sighed, and patted Susanna on her nose. Her favorite horse bowed her head and sniffed Rosita’s blouse, searching for a snack. Rosita smiled weakly. “I’ll bring an apple next time, okay?” She stroked Susanna’s strong neck and suddenly the tears started flowing.
Rosita wrapped her arms around Susanna’s neck and covered her face in Susanna’s manes. “I don’t know what to do! I can’t run this farm on my own! I wish daddy was here!”
She kept crying for several minutes. Then, she dried her eyes and moved on to Hector’s stable. Hector had always scared her a bit, and she had left his care to her father as much as poss
