Everyone's favorite eyeball creature from "Big Trouble In Little China."
In D&D I guess it would be a mini beholderkin. It seems likely that there was some beholder inspiration here. But, this is still a really different creature comparatively. The eyemouth, nose eye, and inverse face are really unique features. Great depiction of a gross-out favorite.
If you're doing a floating head with eyes, it's gonna be compared with the Beholder.
Yeah, fair enough. It's a hard shared culture image to overlook or escape from. When I saw this movie at around 9 my mind instantly referenced the beholder. It's kinda surprising the D&D toy line chose a pvc grell and boliwogs over a beholder toy.
Also, the Big Trouble watcher was similar to the truly bizarre looking sentry bot in Flash Gordon in a way
He see things like no one else
"Oh no, what is that?!! Don't tell me!!"
I wonder what's the name of this particular creature other than eyeball creature or eyes of Lopan.
In the Big Trouble In Little China board game it's simply called "Guardian".
"Ya never know until ya try!"
strange one! thanks for sharing
What it sees, Lopan KNOWS!!!
time to roll 20s.
It's a supernatural, Lovecraftian spy drone created by Cthulhu only knows what.
......But it hard to buy sun glasses.
This dude is probably not much for tanning and sun bathing
Love how in the movie it's not even explained what it is as it just randomly appears then is shot at and flies away
Yup! And we don't really need any explanation for it. We know that it's a spy for Lo-Pan, and that's enough.
Beholder's cousin!.. Or just a Beholder, really. They do have a lot of variation in their looks.
Nowadays, there are a few versions of the Beholder. Though this guy here seems pretty harmless by comparison.
Not quite as terrifying as a Beholder, but effective as a close cousin.
