It's that creepy little troll from the movie "Cat's Eye."

Hey! That guy gave me the creeps when I was a kid! He had no real backstory, and that's what made him even scarier. Nice work.

He's a fairytale villain, and all the motivation a fairytale villain needs is  being evil for evil's own sake.

Oh hell yeah. I rewatched Cat's Eye about a year back for nostalgia because I loved it as a kid. If remember right, I think it was one of the earliest PG-13 thriller/horror movies along with Dreamscape (have you done the Snakeman?). I always wondered where the troll got it's tiny little troll clothes and dagger. Did he make them or buy them in some subterranean troll town?

I haven't done anything with Dreamscape's snake man yet. The transformation really impressed me as a kid.
As for the troll's get-up; there are probably more trolls out there, though this guy seems to prefer a solitary life style.

I keep forgetting this classic. The one with the guy walking on the ledge because of the mobster was really good too!

I think all three stories are good, they're just so very different from each other that the film keeps changing tone in a way that can seem jarring, I guess.

I think I've heard of this movie. Is it an anthology?

Yes, three stories in one, with the cat as a (very flimsy) linking device.

Well the art work looks awesome. I'll have to find the film some ware.

The last tale, which includes this little troll, is very creepy, and the effects are great.

Great illustration! Personally I think the movie is about a Feline Paladin sent by Bast to save a deserving little girl. A form of the Hero's Quest.

Oh yes, very nice.
I remember staying late one night and cruising through the channels for something to watch. I came across Cat Eyes multiple times during that time, passing through "The Ledge" section of the film. I think after getting tired and going back again did I arrive at this segment and watched it to the end. Needless to say it convinced me to go out and get it. :)

This last bit is really what the movie is all about.

Excellent! I've see bits of this sequence. What I like about this troll is I think he's still work as a full sized human figure.:) (Smile)

It's a great design, creepy and comical at the same time. And the troll is played as a very lively, organic character too.

I never heard of this movie, but it looks like it has a good monster in it.

It is about a feline Paladin who is sent by some Spiritual Power on quest to save a little girl from a monster. The Powers of Evil try to stop the cat, even to the point of sending Christine and Cujo after him. The monster shown here only shows up at the end.

You can probably find the troll sequence from "Cat's Eye" on YouTube, and that's the best part of the movie.

Well, the other stories are very different from the last one. They're not bad, but they make the whole movie seem a bit uneven. The cat character doesn't play a very important role in them, as he does in the last one, where it's up to him to save the day.

This goblin was the high point of the movie, which otherwise would have been so-so. The stupid family didn't even keep the friendly helpful kitteh either. Oh well, it was a well done unseelie beastie, nicely depicted as full of malice & rancor.

He's yet another example of excellent 1980's monster design.

This was the best segment in "Cat's Eye". I think they even made a giant set for this guy and it looked great on film. I'm glad he's not forgotten. :)

Yes, that set was quite remarkable. It must've taken up the whole of a huge studio space.
