Since posting my video adaptation of H P Lovecraft's "Dagon" some of my DA pals asked for a better view of the stop-motion monster in the film, so here goes. Enjoy!

The creature is amazing, but I think I'm more impressed by the obelisk and the narrative carvings.
I also like the inclusion of the pineal/angler fish eye which is probably used to lure large prey like giant squid and sperm whales when Dagon is just feeling to lazy for a swim. And also, of course, for telepathically entering into the endless dreams and will of Cthulhu (as well as possible abyssal and cosmic realms).

If you're interested in how the puppet and the obelisk were made you can find a bit of info about that on my blog: loneanimator.blogspot.com/2019…

Yeah! I've already been there a little while back. Super interesting. I'll check it out again because this was something new I hadn't seen.

By the way, wonderful take on this particular Lovecraftian monstrosity; I especially like the Anglerfish elements, which lend a wonderfully Deep Sea element to the ugliness of this creature.Nod

I kind of went with the scariest fish look I could think of, and that's the deep sea fish.

Is that REALLY an obelisk or is old Dagon just happy to see us?:o (Eek)

Outstanding! I particularly like the angler fish head you gave him, and I'll have to check out  this film you've made.

I had to add the angler to his head :)

Of course! He does after all live in the deep ocean.

Poor Dagon, He misses his obelisk. It's just like the one his granny had him sit under while she told him stories of the olden times....

Maybe this is that obelisk?

"Nothing says "love" like the cold and scaly embrace of claws and fish slime in the depths under the pale moonlight..." …???
