A dumb question from a complete newbie to film photography - would it be possible to scan developed fim through a normal computer scanner to get it onto a pc? Would that result in anything near decent quality?

You will need a double sided scanner for this.
I have scanned glass plate negatives well over 100 years old and they come up amazing.
