It had been quite a difficult time lately. Lotus could feel the heaviness of it in his bones, draining his spirit and exhausting his body. He was not sure if he would be able to gather enough energy to do much today, at least it seemed as though the weather would be nice today after several weeks with only rain and wind. Turning his head towards the sun and closing his eyes for a moment, Lotus decided that today would be a day of rest and relaxation, he certainly needed it. Rising from his resting place for the night Lotus groomed himself for a moment, smoothing out his velvet crimson coat. It was not uncommon for twigs and leaves to get caught in his fluffy tail and he would not want to look unkempt. Humming to himself as he removed the last green leaf he could find, he decided to spend his day at his most favourite place in the world, the lotus pond. It was a cool and pleasant morning, Mint always preferred to begin his day early, sometimes even before sunrise. Not today however, today he needed proper daylight for this task. As soon as the sun rose above the horizon he set off towards the sea, because the beach would have all the materials he needed for his art project. As soon as he left the treeline and ventured out onto the sand a soft breeze ruffled his light hazel coat and brought the scent of saltwater to his senses. He quite liked the sea and the sand, but most of all he liked how the waves of the sea would give rounded shapes to stones and glass. This was the reason why he came here today, looking for stones with smooth edges. The stones he wanted to find needed to be smooth and rounded, not too big and not too small.
