What a week! I just attended the NFT.NYC conference with some of the DeviantArt staff (tagged at the end of this post) and it was... shockingly good! It's no secret that DeviantArt has been a thorn in Web3's side, choosing not to simply jump on the opportunistic NFT bandwagon and instead focus on helping and protecting our community by identifying and calling out NFT infringements of creators' work. In August 2021, we launched DeviantArt Protect to better safeguard deviants' art and rights online using proprietary AI-powered technology that scans public blockchains to identify potential art infringements in the form of minted NFTs. The DeviantArt Protect service alerts users when an NFT similar to their work is detected, and in the case of an infringement, the user can take immediate action and send a DMCA takedown request to the relevant marketplace.
