Violet Tiger Tales - Ch. 6 Lilbit (Part 1 of 2)

*Story from the Past* My story really begins about ten years ago. I don't remember much about my birth family and tribe. I do know they were a relatively small tribe of treasure hunters. I also know they raised me to be a Hunter, and I was convinced that's what I would be when I grew up. Though even back then I was always doodling and drawing pictures. When I was six years old, our tribe found an Ancient ruin in the Black Jungle. We were there, trying to figure out how to get past the traps, for months. Something bad happened and... they were killed. My entire tribe, my parents and family, gone. I survived only because I found a good hiding place. I was alone. I only felt safe in my hiding place, and I would only leave to forage for food. Being a child, there were lots of things I didn't know how to do. I did the best I could, but I was barely surviving. Things stayed the same for several more months, until the Humans showed up. The Humans set up a camp right outside the ruins and

HEART TO HEART: Part IV

[DEVIATION] The fire crackled beneath the evening sky, its orange light flickering across the stony ground. At one side of the fire, Hugo sat with his wings folded comfortably against his sides, watching the flames lick around the ends of the sticks he had arranged into a crude spit. The remains of a cow hung on the stick, which Hugo turned with his beak whenever necessary. A handful of rocks surrounded the fire to keep the embers from spreading into the dry grass. The spit itself was hardly elegant, but the sturdy branches resisted the fire well enough. Across from him, the large dragon lowered his head towards the cooking meat and sniffed. “A clever arrangement,” he remarked, “I have seen men cook this way before, but I confess never considering making one myself.” Hugo looked up at the dragon. “I learned it from humans.” The reptile glanced at him. “Humans?” “Nice humans, that is,” Hugo added quickly. The corner of the dragon's mouth curled slightly. “That is a word I

You were shaking like a leaf when you came running back. I thought your tail was on fire!” You blinked at him, but the other mares and Opal didn’t agree with Molo. Well, not Crepuscule, but they already all guessed the tall stallion was kind of special ! But she guessed this time she would be the one unaffected by the heat. Strijder could probably be good with his magic, maybe same for Crepe, but the foal and farkas would probably suffer the most of the heat. Stopping in the immensity of golden sand, she was thinking. “Alright, we’ll have to organize myself unless you want to wait me there until I come back.” A concert of voices made her smile.

Glory was looking at the paw prints on the ground… they were so many. Everywhere on the ground, where the soil was showing between the grass. Even under the light of the big solar, she couldn’t tell exactly how many animals were int he pack who attacked the poor unicorn. She frowned, turning the head around to look at the foals, at the frail mares of her herd. She hated the idea of hunting wolves or dogs, or whatever the creatures were, but they were far too close for their security, and they already killed a unicorn. She sighed, calling everybody around her. It was a critical moment, and they had to be careful. She regretted her trio of stallions wasn’t here, but she had no choice, she had to do without. They had to either chase away or kill the pack of predators, and they had to do it quickly. Thinking fast, she separated the group in two. On one side, she left most of the mare, the foals and Capri.
