When your reminded of how Margaret Keane's 'character design' got enough attention to have a movie made ('Big eyes') but think to yourself how it's like not enough ppl check out stuff on DA x)
I used to be a SCUBA diver. Don't know how you came up with this idea, or if you're a diver yourself, but you sure caught the eeriness and flow of being underwater; and especially arresting is the inky blackness of the surround. You have to go deep (over 100 ft. on a cloudy day) to get that dark, and the only time I did that came vividly to mind when I viewed this. The lighting, the fish, just an amazing job of composition and execution.
i have to say, while the imagery of diving seems amazing, i am terrified of the idea of breathing through a tube like that. props to you for being so brave! i'm glad this painting captured elements of deep sea imagery for someone who is experienced with it!
