Great emotion penetrating through ! As an old school artist from back in the early 90's working at Marvel I must say talent like this used to be hard to find but here it is. How the world of art has changed in the last 35 yrs. Yeah I'm a bit older then most on here but I remember back in the 90's I hated computers saw them stealing our jobs right out from under us, and it didn't really matter what art industry you were in the computer was changing our world. Back to this blonde milky girl. Love the way you wilted the dandelion just a little to relay the sadness but then you use the brighten her face with white to bring back the positive feeling and the limited colors and choices are perfect too.

i know that feeling, i studied 2D animation and the belief is that 2D animation is truly dying out and being replaced with 3D! at the same time.. i think that the growth of computer generated artwork has created a heightened appreciation for handmade and 2D art, because they are seen as more 'authentic'! interesting how that goes. thanks for the kind words!

I'm so sorry I just saw your letter and I agree and if I may add something to your thoughtful letter. I was just talking to my brother whom is an fine artist who paints in oils, " I told him we are analog artist (2D artist.) Drawing from pencil to ink to paint is how we both learned. I even disliked a brush when I was drawing with a pencil trying to get to ink only, yeah Ink Only. It was my goal in the late '70's. I hated a computer in the later 80's when it started replacing signs shops, since I had a small place on main street that fed my family.
2D art IMO will never die out it is the Seed that get planted in every child when they get a hold of a crayon lol. What is so amazing now for someone my age being that I was so blessed to paint for a living all my adult life is that I never dreamed I would/could paint with a house, the ocean, a forest, heck we can make anything a Brush Tip with that Clone Tool. It takes me into the 3D world you might say.
